| Soundgarden – Taree Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Taree is actually a name of Japanese origin. Not sure if it has personal significance to Chris or not, nor am I sure of the meaning. Also, I love how you can really hear Chris getting his Soundgarden voice back through the course of this album. WELCOME BACK, GUYS! |

| Soundgarden – Been Away Too Long Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| And the corrupt kingdoms of overplayed, overrated, untalented 'pop artists' shall crumble as our armies rise from their slumber and take back the music scene we once ruled. | |

This song sounded kind of Coldplayish. Definitely not a bad thing. |

| Great White Buffalo – Russian Satellite Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Not sure about the meaning, but it could have something to do with the Cold War fear of Russian mind-reading satellites (which, I hope you all know, was bullcrap). On a side note: MY FAVORITE SONG BY GWB (so far). |

| Great White Buffalo – Mescaline Lyrics | 13 years ago |

"But I can't put out the fire When it looks like you" God, what an awesome song. All about a love lost to drugs. The first stanza, with "I used to be your hero", is about how the singer used to try to protect his love (The one he calls 'Mescaline', which is a natural psychedelic found in peyote) and how he used to be the only one fighting for her. In the second stanza, the singer wonders why other people who supposedly care haven't confronted Mescaline about her drug use (It's funny how nobody asked). What a wonderful world that we live in... yeah... In the chorus, the singer basically says he knows she still loves him ("Your heart beats faster when it's with mine). Then he mentions that she's not the only one in that position (you're a likely story). He also says that she's still young and still growing (Morning Glory on the vine). Morning Glory could also be a reference to the Victorian Language of Flowers, in which a Morning Glory represents love in vain. I'm not too sure about the third stanza's first lines, but 'burning' definitely has to do with the suffering of 'Mescaline'. It's what she knows how to do. "But I can't put out the fire when it looks like you" The singer can't bring himself to show 'Mescaline' what she's doing to herself because he doesn't want to hurt her. "You didn't do the same when I asked you to." Even when he tried to get 'Mescaline' to help herself, she never followed through. Probably my favorite off this album, right next to Mid-Twenty Nothing. |

| A great way to say that his life is lived purely for Rock and Roll. | |

If you don't get what the title is referencing, you might be a shut-in. |

| Great White Buffalo – Stallionettes Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Reminds me of a Black Keys song. Simply talking about hooking up with certain types of girls at parties. So called 'Stallionettes'. |

REALLY not sure about the meaning of this one. But it feels like a really mellow Incubus song. |

| Great White Buffalo – Old Soul Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
'This is my roll' definitely sounds like it should be 'role' instead. But this is how it was posted on their website, and it's one of those things you just can't be too sure enough about to change. What it's about? It sounds like it has lot to do with the reincarnation idea of an 'Old Soul'. http://www.michaelteachings.com/old_soul.html tl;dr Old Souls are souls hat have been reincarnated many times already and are nearing the end of their life cycle. They are often very tired and do not accomplish much in their individual lives. This usually stems from an attitude of having given up on the world. |

Also, I love the energy of this song. Sounds kind of 'Arena-rock'y, I guess. |

I know the spacing is a little weird, but this is pretty much how it was posted on their website. I'm not really sure what the song is about. Could be about something happening to the singer. He's usually able to shrug of these sorts of things but, for some reason, this girl is getting to him. Maybe, I don't know. |

| Great White Buffalo – Mid-Twenty Nothing Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Most likely a song about an extremely laid-back person. Young, mid-twenties (DUH, that's the title of the freakin' song), just narrating his/her (probably his) daily life. I probably got the second stanza a bit wrong. At least the second line. I'm just not sure what would fit there. |

| Great White Buffalo – LA Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Probably talking about a breakup that ended with the two separating to different cities. But this could easily be an anti-tourist song, lol. |
