This sounds the most like Owl City out of the songs on the new EP. It is the most twinkly out of them, but still has the Dr. Luke mainstream synth influenced sounds. The lyrics, though, follows the Owl City formula very faithfully. The title is a beautiful object and allegorizes the title to a simple but universal feeling that is explored creatively and enchantingly through the song. However the meaning is verrryyyyy generic and sounds almost toooo identical to Katy Perry's "Firework", about being anybody in the world and shining bright no matter what and no matter who you are. |

This like a dream come true. Two of my favorite artists ever are on one song. You can totally tell that Mark Hoppus had some sort of control over this song because it plays like a blink 182 song but with the spirit of Owl City.It feels bigger than what Adam usually does. Im glad that the lyrics are surreal like Owl City and not straight forward like usual rock songs. Its a rock song, with Owl City lyrics. It is mesmerizing.
Anyway, i think this song is about a girl who told him that he needed to forget about the wonderful relationship they had, but he still has minor flashbacks of memories and chills, and although he tries his hardest to forget about it, he keeps getting this flashbacks, like the effects of Dementia. |

I can tell this song had a little bit more Adam Young input in it. The song lyrics follow the classic Owl City formula with the title being a beautiful and wondrous object and throughout the song connecting the title with a simple feeling. As for the sound, its very mainstream and Dr. Luke influenced but at least its catchy amd it sounds like a David Guetta impersonation of an Owl City loop. I love this song because its trying something very new while still respecting Adam Young's roots. As said by choclemon, i do believe this a song about going separate ways to show off what theyve got, which is "gold." This song makes me excited about the new album. |

this is the most un-owl city song to date. The lyrics has a hint of Adam Young's whimsical touch, but everything seems to be taken over, having the rough Dr. Luke synthesizers and ridding away of any twinkly synth beats that made Owl City lovable. This sounds like a generic pop song. It even sounds like a One Direction song. It also doesnt make you think because the lyrics are blatantly spread out for you. This song is about someone complaining about a girl he loved made him promises that she took away after they broke up. I would have forgiven this because Young usually finds a way to creatively express simple emotions but here its just flat out. I still love Owl City and cannot wait for The Midsummer Station, but i hope this is not the main example of what the album is. |

I sure hope this winds up on the new album. Its like one the last songs that sound all twinkly like the classic owl city sound. Also, this song has a simple but universal thought of hoping someone thinks of you. |
