This is my favorite song on Shooting Star. Honestly, at first I didn't like Adam's new style, but it's grown on me. I can only hope the other fans embrace it, too.

Dear Adam, You’ve changed over this year. There have been both good and bad reviews of it, at least from your fans. I’m sure that the critics will love this. Me? I love the new music…but I will miss you, my friend. I will miss how we waltzed through the forest. I will miss the day we spent submerged. I will miss our high hot air balloon rides without a care in the world. I will miss staring up at the stars at three in the morning waiting for a vanilla twilight to herald dawn. I will miss falling gracefully through the sky. I will miss our dances through the velvet sky. I will miss the breeze through the satin air. I will miss walking down by the bay on the shore. I will miss wading through a Miami night. I will miss that ruby glow as I listen to your music and imagine a world in which the whimsical is the reality and life is crystalline and lovely. I used to never see the ground. I was lost among the clouds, filled with bliss. Oh, how blue the sky could be if you really looked. How perfect was a simple blossom. How perfectly the world fit together, just you, me, and the music we all felt. Life was never as it seemed. So soothing, so perfect…I could drift off in a sailboat made of clouds, stitched together by piano chords and sweet words. When nothing else was right, you held me in your arms and sang me to sleep. Life became a waking dream of the sweetest, purest quality. It was the Technicolor phase of my life. I was never afraid of the darkness. I could be anything…everything…I was everything…and you were a part of it all. You were the key to my heart, the stone that held up the arch, the jewel in the crown. All was perfect, all was beautiful. Yet we’ve never known each other. You were my hero, and still are. You love…respect…dream. Let me paint a scene. You have found the most perfect place in the world. The ocean is a deep blue green and gently lapping at the shore. It stretches on for miles until the heat mixes with the air and the horizon blurs. High above, the sun blazes while the sea gives off a cool breeze. Sailboats lazily drift along the horizon, a bright dot against the majestic blue sky. You can wander along the shore feeling completely safe. If you walk far enough, it blends into a city. The skyscrapers look like they are made of crystals. People walk contented through the streets, birds soar high up above. This is not the picture I have painted all on my own. You painted it for me, guiding my hand until a wonder was revealed before my eyes. Now…2012, bright lights, modern issues, gleaming skyscrapers…and us, the dreamers, caught in its middle. We’re shipwrecked in a sea of faces. We have no choice but to change. I suppose that’s the way it goes. I’ll hang the clouds above my town and try not to shed a tear when you disappear. I am afraid I might lose some part of myself. Hello, world…do you like me? I am who I am. And I’m a dreamer. I will always hold the past years close to myself. You can always find me on the beach, eyes closed, with my ears filled with music and nostalgia. May I never forget you. May I never refocus my eyes in the darkness. May I read this one day and be filled with memories. May I once again hear the sweet chords and think, “This is me. This is you. Seriously I think I can relate a bit or much of what you experienced because of his songs. I really believe he is one of God's gifts to many people.

Like his songs would make imagination come alive, more vivid. anyway I too was disappointing because his new songs weren't moving me like some of his previous songs did.

Nevertheless, his new songs aren't garbage,but they just don;t move me like some or many of his former Owl City songs moved me . I say Owl City, because I liked songs from that project. I never really dug Sky Sailing,...

God only knows how much -Dreams Don't turn to Dust, and "The Real World" and "Galaxies" were so moving to me, especially Dreams Don' Turn to Dust.

"I'll meet you there" was the first song I heard from him. I remember thinking in awe opened eyed something like what is this?!? This was this "happy" music..
Who knows, maybe on his new album maybe there will be something on there that will move you.
I don't know if you are a Christian, but I'll say this nevertheless: I believe God gave him this special gift. Maybe right now God may be moving him to take this route to reach some other people. And to be honest the songs are horrible. Many people have voiced their opinion of liking the song.
But like at this point we've only hear four songs., Who knows maybe the other songs could bless you..

His music has changed me at a crucial point in my life. I'll never stop loving Vanilla Twilight, or Plant Life, or I'll Meet You There. His deeper songs carry me away into another world I can take refuge in and escape the dark, bitter world too many of us are stuck in today. His quirky songs like Dental Care and Rugs From Me...

We can only hope, or pray if you're like that, that some of Adam's old style snuck in to The Midsummer Station. I haven't been with Adam for as long as some of the other fans, but I do know that his music has been the soundtrack to my life. I am the kind of person who expresses herself through the songs she sings. I sing to myself when no one is around, just to reassure myself of my feelings, and Owl City's songs fit my life like no one else's could. This seems different. Adam, you're changing. I can't stop you....

this is the most un-owl city song to date. The lyrics has a hint of Adam Young's whimsical touch, but everything seems to be taken over, having the rough Dr. Luke synthesizers and ridding away of any twinkly synth beats that made Owl City lovable. This sounds like a generic pop song. It even sounds like a One Direction song. It also doesnt make you think because the lyrics are blatantly spread out for you. This song is about someone complaining about a girl he loved made him promises that she took away after they broke up. I would have forgiven this because Young usually finds a way to creatively express simple emotions but here its just flat out. I still love Owl City and cannot wait for The Midsummer Station, but i hope this is not the main example of what the album is.

@oceanheart13- That is absolutely not true!!! Have you even SEEN the album?! Or at least the Wikipedia page?! The only song in all of Owl City that he DIDN'T write was Gold. He totally did write Shooting Star, I should know because it's been my favorite song ever since it came out.

well i hope he focuses on the other sounds than this song. I know this isnt ALL Adam.
