I think it's about someone after a failed suicide attempt. Someone who's trying to figure things out afterward, he's getting treatment and it's helping but he needs to figure out some of it himself. |

I agree with this one, except I think the line "Someday I'll write and ask you" implies that they're not together anymore, although the following part implies that he never left her for the reason the song's about, but maybe they just grow apart or something.
The ending seems to be about him thinking back, and thinking about how he still loves her, and how even though they're apart at this point, he's glad he didn't end up leaving her when he came close to it. |
