| Demons and Wizards – Wicked Witch Lyrics

It´s about the death of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz, with numerous references to silver shoes, the yellow brick road and her body melting away. It has a sad, almost regretful tone to it which is rather strange.
Also, due to the theme of the album being the Dark Tower novels, one must mention the Oz parallells in Wizards and Glass (read the books if you haven´t). Also Rhea of the Cöon is arguably the DT equivalent of the Wicked Witch of the West. |

Although the song´s name is "Crimson King", it´s actually about the Man in Black - the primary antagonist of the Dark Tower books. He goes by many names - Walter O´Dim, Marten Broadcloak, Randall Flagg, The Dark Man etc., although the lyrics states that he is also the "Good Man", but that is the nickname of John Farson, another character in the DT novels. |

| Demons and Wizards – Beneath These Waves Lyrics

It´s about Captain Ahab and his determination in killing Moby Dick. In the Dark Tower novels, Ahab´s quest is also used by his ka-tet as a metaphor for Roland Deschain´s quest in finding the Dark Tower, thereby tying in with the concept of this album. |
