This song has to be one of the very best of 2004. It has a very personal meaning to me as my current situation relates to it very well. For me, it's about someone who has been left behind by a girl who he loves very deeply, and there's nothing but excuses. The first verse had many meanings. Out of nothing, you came to my arms - for me this means, you always came to me for help whenever you needed it. I fell every time - could mean, every time you came to me i fell in love with you even more, or it could mean, I collapsed under the pressure and ended up being useless. You're the first and the last time that I'll ever try - speaks for itself really. So dry your eyes, I'll say goodbye - Don't cry about this, don't get worked up over it, I'll be the better person and leave before it hurts us both. I'm left hanging like all dancing bears I need rope to keep me in line - without you in my life, there's no direction, no one there to help me on my way any more. I can't stop them, there's more bombshell coming I choke. More words, more lies - there's more bad news to come my way, I can't stop this happening any more. The more that's said, the less that's true. I can't believe it's come to this, I'm banging on a sinking ship - I'm trying so hard save the situation when I can see it's so obvious that it's too late now. Hoping someone hears my list - there's so many things I want to say, but no one listens any more. For every trial I'll take a fall, you never notice it no more - Every time we argue, it hurts me more and more but you just don't seem to care. The rest of the song really speaks for itself. This is just my personal opinion anyway. |
