This song was my refuge for my formative "Ziggy Stardust" 13-17 yr old 80'z phase, from which my behavior gots my ass sent to Military School in Georgia, for which I'm forever grateful, and somewhat pissed off. My major pubescent 13 yr old memories of "Scary Monsters" period trully made me want to wear clown-glitter outfits, but was mostly infatuated w/ Alice Cooper/Frank Zappa//Talking Heads/ Iggy Pog genres w/ a huge dash of Disco Sucks/Sabbath Rules(especially Randy Rhode, where the hell'z his Behind the Music story, that tragedy still cuts deep. However I digress - David Bowie put on a hell of a show in H-town last tour and I usually don't go to Arena Shows anymore but he defined the "Essence of Class" by flirting w/ our Tejas crowd while simultaneously projecting humility! Gotsta giveitup for the dude who started "Glitter Rock" and made us US Machismo Rockers to respect British Amphibians from Outer Space! |

I'm not schooled in the art of anything remotely connected to the categorization of music - especially classical, indie, artsy fartsy, hipster, new age, schmancey pantsy, thought provoking audible communication (as a matter of fact - I likes the funky Nawlins stuff) but this artist reminds of why we should never "compartmentalize" musical genres, generations, styles, juxtapositions, and jams! Caught AB twice in H-town, and he's the gift that keeps on giving. This song is beautiful, that's all folks! |
