It's pretty commonly accepted that Abraham's near sacrifice of Isaac was meant to parallel God's sacrifice of Jesus, with Isaac carrying the wood for the fire up the mountain on his back, as Christ climbed Golgotha with the wooden cross on his back, but, I'm not sure that it's been historically proven that this mountain was the exact same mountain, but I think the parallels and message of the story are pretty clear even if they were different geographical places. |

We were just talking about this in my theology class.
Theologically speaking no one was righteous but Jesus, and we are all made righteous because of Jesus' sacrifice, but Abraham was the only person, pre-Christ who's deeds were "accounted to him as righteousness"
So Abraham was counted as Righteous due to his favor with God. |

I think Casey Jones' name is being used more generally than specifically to simply refer to the conductor of a train, instead of the actual historical Casey Jones. |

In someways it's also relevant to Bear's death allowing Fox's to end because where Bear's circle ends Fox's begins. |

It's the idea that even before a "circle" begins it's journey it knows it's going to end where it currently is, but it can't ever come back to where they are now unless they embark on this journey around the circle.
I think that it's the concept of a full-life, especially pertaining to Bear's death. That we all start and end in the same place mortally. From nothing life is created and at the end we become nothing again, but in order to get from nothing to nothing we must embark on this circuitous journey back to where we started. |

A RIP spot is an area on a rail line where a train can stop for minor repairs before continuing on.
The point here being that the train is moving very quickly trying to make it on time, and the train is struggling because it didn't receive the repairs at the RIP spot. |

I think that the Elephant in this song is a sort of Christ figure. She causes the train car to crash off the icy tracks by slamming her body into the side of the car, knowing she was unable to escape while the other animals can, providing an escape from their cages and the train while she is left to die in the wreckage. |

| Wye Oak – For Prayer Lyrics

I think the song is about being in a bad situation and asking for help, but all you get is prayers and good wishes.
"I wanted hands, but I got knees"
It's like she's saying she wanted someone who would help out, and not just prayers. |
