| Brian May – Nothin' But Blue Lyrics
|
The guitar in this song, according to the credits, was a JS which was given to him by Satch. He plays it beautifully!
I bought this CD when it first came out and loved the crap out of it! My algo's went on a tirade and, 25 years later, I really listened to it. May is at his zenith on this album, musically and vocally. THIS is what any Queen fan needs to give a hard listen! The production is great, even for 90's standards. Brian's chops are amazing with some inter-modal stuff that I can't wrap my head around. If this was a Queen album, it would be, IMO, at least #8 in a long history of great Queen albums. |

It's amazing to me that this post is the only one on this entire track list other than the song, "My Sharonna!" This whole album is incredible and it's sad that one song is all that is remembered from this great album, and band. The production, song writing and performance quality of this and all their albums is incredible! It's time that people listen and appreciate all of their work. It's THAT great! |

| Black Sabbath – Spiral Architect Lyrics

@[Denzil:38427] And, to expand on that, as our Sun travels through the Galaxy, the Earth follows in a spiral trajectory. Sabbath is DEEP! Whether they know it, or not. The spiral of DNA of humans was proven in 1962 so, Sabbath would've had this knowledge at the time of the writing. I recall a LIFE magazine cover in the 60's of the Helix. It's interesting that blokes in the 60's had to present their belief in our Creator, carefully, as to not upset the Darwinists of their generation, lest they be ridiculed. Imagine a World where you would be cancelled for a belief in THE CREATOR of all life as we know it, in Jesus Christ!!! |

@[SABRACADABRA:34034] Yes, This is about the Elite's belief that, if they freeze their brain at death, somehow, in the future, someone(s) will cure death and revive them so that they can live forever. Now that AI is being developed and cybornetics is growing, these same Elite think that, eventually, they'll be able to "download" their soul into a new, cyborg body and live forever.
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27
Godless humans intent on eternal life and will fail every time! These Elite are trying to be God by gaining as much wealth as they can, through all sorts of lies, "Global Warming" and "Carbon taxes" are all ploys for them to gain as much money and control over the sheep and they are winning in this battle but, God won't stand for it much longer and will send His Son to set it right!!! |

@[8992Tiger:15426] Question: Is Neil saying this "tongue-in-cheek" or literally? I'm hoping it is the former as we shouldn't rely on others to tell us what is the right thing to do! Or is this the hope that someone, "those who know what's best for us," ie. politicians, will rise and make things all better? Because, it seems to me, this society, with the corrupt media as it is, seems to think we can't survive without the governments help! Your(or anyone else's) thoughts? |

| Barry Manilow – Could It Be Magic? Lyrics
| 9 years ago
|
After surviving my older Sister's obsession with Barry when I was a teen, I actually took my wife to see him about ten years ago when he brought his Vegas stage show to Portland for a charity concert at the Rose Garden(now the Moda Center). I actually got excited about it to the point of humorously shushing my wife when she said, "I can't hear him very well"(we were in the nose-bleed section as I bought, probably, the last two tickets available). I replied, "You don't need to hear him, It's Barry "freakin" Manilow!"
As far as Barry "lifting" this song from Chopin, as suggested by JSBach earlier, Barry gave full credit to Chopin before he started playing the chords. As a musician, I have many influences(mostly hard rock) and I'm sure I've played a riff or two that sounds like something, someone else has done before. It's inevitable. I've even heard chord progressions that I came up with played by other recording artists. I don't think they were spying on me and stole my ideas. It's just bound to happen. |

| Tom Jones – She's a Lady Lyrics
|
@[daswgn:10272] "behind the times?" You mean like the "times' when our "women" feel the need to expose themselves constantly to be noticed? Pretty pathetic if that constitutes being "with the times," if that's what you mean.
Now go and cry "rape" every time a man sees constant nudity in the media. Men are wired to the visual. As long as they SEE promiscuity from women, that's how men interpret it. You want to be treated like "a lady," then act like a lady!
Yes, men should also control themselves but, if they are constantly bombarded by the media that women are sex objects, that's what men perceive them as. Get it?! |

It's not just about strippers and the like. It's about how the media sells women as if she's you're dream girl but, they are unattainable. Nobody looks that good and, even if they did, you would find they aren't perfect anyway. If you set you're sights on the perfect girl, you're bound to be disappointed. |

@[nemt:4212] It may not have been, in particular by Peart, but if he's wanting us to use our brain and come to our own conclusions, the threat of nuclear weapons can be "a weapon to be used against us." Just the threat has people living in fear. Why do you think the powers that be don't want nuclear weapons to be developed by Iran? Definitely, that threat is being used against a lot of us. You can't deny that the US government has a track record of telling us who the bad guy is and that we need to go to war with them just to feed the military industrial complex. |

It certainly sounds to me like a one-sided love affair. In his mind, he thinks she loves him the same way he loves her but, she really doesn't love him that way at all and dates other guys. Because of that, in his mind, she is cheating on him. Kinda like a stalker would think. |

I agree with all you said except, in the case of the U.S. government, the President and V.P. and all government is under the thumb of the corporations. Bush and Obama are just puppets of the super elite(rich).
A comparison with your Mary Whitehouse was the PMRC in the U.S.who wanted to censor music by putting warning labels on CD's. Well, it backfired on them because the kids would target and buy the CD's with the labels on them. |

| Rush – Tom Sawyer Lyrics

I saw them five times from late '70's through the '80's and, you're right, they didn't move around alot. I think the reason though is the music they were playing back then involved alot of keyboards and Geddy was stuck behind that keyboard monstrosity he had built. Even Alex had that Moog foot board he was tied to. I have noticed, however that on their most recent live DVD's their equipment is pared down alot and their songs aren't so much keyboard oriented. You get to see the two of them walk the stage more. To me though, I could careless if they stood like statues as long as they keep crankin' out the jams! Three of the best musicians/song writers on the planet!
This subjects still bothers me though. If you went to a concert where classical or orchestral music were being played, you wouldn't expect to see flame pots and other pyrotechnics or the lead violinist jumping off of an amp, ala Eddie, would you? Why can't it be about the music anymore? And when did it change? Have you ever watched the entire film "Woodstock" It was just three days of bands getting onstage and playing what people wanted to hear. No flames. The only spaz was Joe Cocker and that was just normal for him. Even Hendrix didn't do anything wild at that concert but, musically, he even blew the other musicians away!
Kansas is another band who are very professional about their music. Never miss a chance to see them! |

Before Moving Pictures came out and they would announce on the radio that RUSH was up next, you could count on a wide variety of songs being played. Working Man, Fly By Night, Closer To The Heart and so on. After MP all you heard, and still hear today, was/is this song. Every song on this album is more worthy of airplay than TS. This is what happens when people, who know nothing about music, decide what's "good" and force it down your throat(or ears). |

I always thought that this was about government attempts at censoring the internet. The mirror being the internet user reflecting the injustices of the government elite. The Barber being martial law which will eliminate all who oppose. And the elite, in turn, kill the Barber(who become too powerful for the Elite to control) to cover their tracks. |
