Last night I was listening to a bunch of my old CDs. When I came across Under My Skin, I put it in on and started listening to the songs. There were a lot I had forgotten about. When this song came on, I started listening to the lyrics. They brought memories back from when my great grandmother, my nan and a very close friends were all alive. Thinking about all the great times, I broke down crying because I missed them so much at that moment.
I guess what I'm saying is that the lryics of a song can mean so much more when you stop and listen to them, try to connect them to your life. You should never take things for granted no matter what they are. Things can change so quickly and you can go back to fix them. Life is like this. And life goes on. |

Honestly, I'd have to disagree with you. I don't think that Hedley is a rip-off of Billy Talent. They're totally different bands, with different people that all have different personalities. Yeah, Billy Talent has been around for 11 more years than Hedley, but that doesn't mean anything. Bily Talent's music is alos way more rock than Hedley's is. |

I love this song! I've actually thought of typing up a thing on the computer that says, "Dear _________, I'm sorry I _________ your __________. Today is going so slow." Then printing off a bunch of copies to carry with me and fill out as I go about my day. I'd just have to make sure that I credit the parts that aren't blank to Hedley. :) |

I've never really thought about this song meaning that. I've heard it so many times and felt so sad whenever I heard it, but I never thought it could mean something so different from what I thought. I thought that it honestly meant that a girl was done with her life, she'd had enough, but there were things she wanted others to know, like when it says, "Gather up your tears and keep them in your pocket/Save them for a day when you're really gonna need them" she doesn't want her family to cry over her death. But the way you interpreted it, I realise that it could mean so much more. Also, just to say, the only thing that clues you in to the fact that it's about a girl is that she'll "Wear her pearls." Just because a boy will love you forever doesn't mean that you have to be a girl. The way the song is written though, and what it talks about makes you automatically think of a girl. |

I personally think that she still has great music okay? Her music ranges in meaning and the effect it has on people. She doesn't and never will look like Marilyn Manson. She hasn;t sold out. She IS NOT a skank. She definitely is not an embarassment to Canada. I look up to her because of her talant and the fact that she doesn't give a damn about what people think about her. You shouldn't have to rant about her if you can appreciate what she's capable of. |

I think this song is about not giving a damn about what other people think of you. Yeah, sometimes you're a bit rude and snobbish but there are thib=ngs you do and don't like, there are rules. But in the end you just hope things work out and you dont care what others think. Cuz you're the best damn thing they've ever thing.

I don't get why people have to take so many stabs at Avril Lavigne or anyone else for that mater. The video isn't her fault, yeah she probably threw in some ideas, but the director had control. So for those who think she's a cross between this and that, deal with it. She has amazing talent and if you can't see that, I don't understand how you interpret music. |

I find that thsi song has very powerful lyrics. My favourite line is, "I won't hate myself to be loved by you." I think that means that you won't be who someone else wants you to be just so they love you. |
