No one else in the band seemed to be into it besides me and I started to work on it right away. The demo had a real electronic feel and it was so different. speaking from a real experience. (i used to abuse drugs and alcohol, and i think that the beginning of this bands work is a lot about being under the influence of not just that, but also the influence of human beings and the stress of trying to be normal and live with people who were "normal". ) i have never felt sane. and if you have felt sane, then you wont understand what this song is getting at.
this song is about being in love with something or someone more than you love yourself. letting it take you over mind, soul and body. then once you realize this influence you find a new meaning for yourself. you realize you deserve better than a lifestyle where you love someone more than yourself. YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT. you can achieve something greater by being in yourself and letting yourself live through your own happiness. you may think someone is your all. but they cannot truly be your all until you (as corny as it sounds) yourself are "your all"
this song is about growing up. feeling pain. and moving on. |

whoever the song is written about is trying to hide from some reality that lies in their subconscience. usually the things in your subconscience tell a great deal about who one REALLY is. You can't run away from the truth. you especially cant hide it from the person who wrote the song. The guy who wrote it has accepted who he is, and ultimately has figured out what his subconscious knows. he is in on the secret ahha. so, he is kinda just saying,life is easier to live when you accept the truth about yourself. being depressed your whole entire life and trying to compensate with drugs and alcohol to fill the void. Then to find that that was all wrong and you have fucked up so much when it's too late. "i didn't realize i was awake the whole time." this is how i perceive it, though the beauty of circa is that there are hidden double and triple meanings behind every word. He is an amazing poet and i wish more people knew. |
