Great work on this. It took me forever to figure out he was saying "With his car horn talk...," what a bizarre and wonderful metaphor. After listening to a handful of live versions of this, I would recommend the following corrections: First chorus: "He's stringing himself up..." --> "He street himself up...." First chorus: "You been a wall of ideas..." --> "You been a world of ideas...." First chorus: "With his car horn talk, you make..." -> "With his car horn talk, he'll make..." Second verse: "Feel my appetite..." --> "(I) fill my appetite..." Second chorus: "I can build myself up before I make the scare..." --> "I can build myself up before I make the scale..." (as in, scaling a mountain) Second chorus: "String myself up..." --> "Street myself up...." The lyrics here hit the studio version on the head. Live, James Petralli likes to add little phrases here and there, especially in slow-jam versions where they're really groovin'. As an example: the album version sounds like "Always room, angry moon...," but live he'll sing: "Cuz there's always room, on an angry moon..." |
