Maybe under the illusion that the idea of america (ideals, which were lost on the current place you stood) could be found if you went to look in the right place.. instead all thats found is what you left in the first place, and a realization that it never existed anywhere but in your head. This song to me suits the feeling that the 60's left on the world, that the real is what is important but something you cant really get without first hand experience and perspective. |

I have always seen Raine as someone with great truth with in, some would define that with the word "prophet". This song is amazing, I remember having a random dream about it years back, never really having listened to it much, and passing it off as just another label pushed radio song.. but in that dream i could hear the lyrics i had never memorized before, it was third person perspective, and playing for our leaders to hear. when i woke it struck me that this song has a message in it that is very special! i didnt know what to make of it at that time, but now after becoming obsessed with it again this is what i derived. please share with me your thoughts, were in it together! |
