i know theyre a religious band, but something about this really irks me. i feel like sometimes their lyrics arent necessarily religious, and stuff that applies to life in general, yet it is constantly interpreted that way. maybe thats just me and my non-christian perspective...either way they and their lyrics are awesome

look i know theyre religious, but why do you have to bring christ into that line? it isnt referenced directly. the line just means, dont let something in your past dictate how you live your life in the present. dont use it as an excuse for your behavior. (dont excuse yourself from life today) |

if i may, i think youre reading into the "I can fear death no longer
I've died a thousand times" part. i think he just means that hes died a thousand times in the sense that hes already been so low, and parts of him have probably died. but thats just my interpretation i suppose |
