This song is about a guy who likes a girl, but she doesn't know about his feelings for her. They are hanging out together and she decides to take him to her best friend's house, just to hang out with more people and have a slumber party. The girl has a crush on him too, and they start making out at some point during the night. The song is really amazing, just the layering of all the voices and the simple guitar part. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but listening to it makes you feel as if you ARE the guy in the song, and you're experiencing the story through his eyes. Truly amazing. |

In this song, the narrator has a crush on the fictional character Daniel Larusso. She watches The Karate Kid one summer, (wild blue skies) and falls in love with him, or the idea of him. The "fires" might be her desire to be with him, and she has a dream that he takes her somewhere in a car and makes love to her. "When I run in the dark" is escaping into her imaginary world to be with him. She is lying awake one night and realizes that he isn't real, and she can't have him ("Goodbye bed") and feels lost and disconnected ("just kids in the eye of the storm") And she decides that she needs to keep searching for that "flame" that Daniel had, but in a real person. Basically, she starts looking for her real-life Daniel, and that feeling of this person you love being your home. Beautiful, beautiful song. Everybody deserves a Daniel. |

This song was on an episode of The Office, playing in a club in New York. That's how I discovered it:) Really catchy song, just the best! |

I remember being 5 years old and sitting in my dad's truck listening to this. For me, this song has so many memories attached to it. It's the only song that ever made me cry. "Will I wait a lonely lifetime/If you want me to, I will" means that he will love this person forever, even if she doesn't love him. |

Obviously this is about a school shooting. "Robert" may be the group leader, who came up with the idea for the killing spree. "He's a cowboy kid" probably means that he's really level-headed and cool, like a cowboy, and the main character idolizes him. The lines about the dad coming home late are an attempt to point out how the main character may be neglected by his parents, having to defrost his own dinner because no one is there to cook for him. Also, "your hair's on fire, must have lost your wits" could mean he has been abused and set on fire, either by his dad or an older sibling, or bullies. As for the chorus, "Pumped up kicks" may be a reference to those puffy skater shoes that preps wear. This song may cause hallucinations. |

Beautiful, beautiful song:) The first verse is definitely about abortion, and this becomes obvious when you watch the music video (it shows a needle being passed over someone's stomach). The line "I can't sleep next to a stranger when I'm coming down" talks about doing drugs and having a one-night-stand, then regretting it the next morning and feeling miserable. The lime tree is a metaphor for life, the limes are all people (some ripe, some rotten) and he has a realization under the lime tree, and walks into the woods, suddenly at one with nature. |

This song is amazing, sullen and blurry yet poetic. Reminds me of middle school. I think Kanye is talking about his ex and why he broke up with her (because she was a show-off). Meanwhile, he's dealing with the obnoxious paparazzi, and feels lonely because his girlfriend is gone. |
