| It took me the longest to understand the song, but I think I got it. I already knew this song was associated with women, but then it was also about music affiliated with women. I'm sure with this song Chino (deftones) is telling us that every woman is a beautiful and powerful song. It's a song, that's dedicated to women in general, it has to be. I do know that Chino has an affinity towards women. | |

i just hope you all know this is a helmet song. anyway, i think the song is simply about this guy either being afraid or feeling incompetent to fuck this girl, so he goes and jerks off instead. not sure whether she's his girlfriend or not, but he's also afraid of the consequences because he knows it's wrong, somehow. Kind of like "I can't move her (fuck her) because I'm obsessed with protection (condoms, impregnating, or STD), this is a bad idea, but she needs affection and she chose me!" i THINK he eventually tries to or does fuck her and he gets uncomfortable, but she doesn't care and tries to get some anyway. "she doesn't see me and I don't care" : (she's not seeing how i feel about it, and i don't care) these next lyrics could be something SHE'S telling HIM: "just move around some, and fix your stare" telling him to at least do something and to change his face since he's obviously uncomfortable. |

My most favorite song off this album. I think that this song is describing a relationship where this person loves someone who loves someone else and feels that they both share that displeasure of not being loved back "In a sea of waves, we hug the same plank." the plank could be referring to a person that doesn't show affection or emotion. Anyway, this person is telling the one he/she loves that if they ever find themselves in a low, that they'll be there for them and do whatever it takes to make them happy "If like you should sink down beneath, i'll swim down". But at the same time, the person is tired and frustrated because the person she/he loves is keeping them around only to constantly tease them, "you hanged the anchors over my neck, i liked it at first, but the more you laughed the crazier i came." and he/she's questioning what the loved one really wants "is that what you want?"...a lot like being in the "friend zone", to put it easier & i currently find myself in that position. And let me just tell you, doing that shit to anybody is fucking horrible. |
