Sinatra (Helmet cover) Lyrics
I can't move her
Obsessed with protection
This is a bad idea
She needs affection
What, me?!
Drive around town forced to talk
Pass that church again
Where's a parking spot?
It's Sinatra's world
She just lives here
I hate everything as much as
I hate me!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
She doesn't see me
And I don't care
Just move around some and
Fix your stare
I had more fun
Took half the time
Cost three bucks
Buy a magazine!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
Obsessed with protection
This is a bad idea
She needs affection
What, me?!
Pass that church again
Where's a parking spot?
It's Sinatra's world
She just lives here
I hate everything as much as
I hate me!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
And I don't care
Just move around some and
Fix your stare
I had more fun
Took half the time
Cost three bucks
Buy a magazine!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!
What's the best for me?!

The song is really about the girl he likes and how she's obsessed with Frank Sinatra and how he feels like he can't compare to her unrealistic ideals. There's a lot of teenage angst; driving around looking for a parking spot (so they can make out where no one can see). It's really a song about how girls and especially teenage girls size guys up by comparing them to famous men, and the feelings of the song's unreliable narrator who literally believes his girlfriend is in love with Frank Sinatra and not him.
um, dont really like this song. heard better.
easy. some guy tryin 2 get in with sum chic but he cant be bothered 2 make the effort so in the end he goes n wanks instead
i just hope you all know this is a helmet song. anyway, i think the song is simply about this guy either being afraid or feeling incompetent to fuck this girl, so he goes and jerks off instead. not sure whether she's his girlfriend or not, but he's also afraid of the consequences because he knows it's wrong, somehow. Kind of like "I can't move her (fuck her) because I'm obsessed with protection (condoms, impregnating, or STD), this is a bad idea, but she needs affection and she chose me!" i THINK he eventually tries to or does fuck her and he gets uncomfortable, but she doesn't care and tries to get some anyway. "she doesn't see me and I don't care" : (she's not seeing how i feel about it, and i don't care) these next lyrics could be something SHE'S telling HIM: "just move around some, and fix your stare" telling him to at least do something and to change his face since he's obviously uncomfortable.
the original version is done by Helmet but I like both versions
It's heavy as hell :D
I like the helmet version, but i enjoy this one a whole lot more. Chino's voice just adds to the great effect of the song
i dont understand the Sinatra reference...what is he trying to imply by saying Sinatra's world? like a stuck up sort of thing or an excessive type of world?
As the title, he's speaking of claiming a "Hey remember Frank Sinatra?" type position in history without worrying about the entertainment aspect. One of their best songs ever.
