I think that some of you guys are missing the most important part of the song. Yes, love is a guy giving a girl flowers and all that romantic stuff. Yes, love is the way you will always stand up for your family and friends, but most of all love is showing an act of random kindness to someone even if they don't deserve it. For example, the disaster in Hati, we helped them by sending money and people over and many other wonderful things. We didn't help Hati because they are going to pay us or give us anything in return. We did it out of love and compassion even though we don't nessasarilly no anybody there personally! If the world crashed, through love we help each other, love can take it! So like the song says "let the world crash, love can take it!" |

When I first heard this song, I thought it was about a guy being obsessed with a girl, but the more that I listened to it, the more confusing it was. The line "I thirst no longer" sounds compleatly religious. Yet, who refers to religion in a phrase like "leave me dumb without reason" and "resigned to be your fool"? Its very harsh wording. I think that this song is the truth. It shows his undying love and even obsession for Jesus, but even then I think it also shows how he's stopped thinking about it, "leave me dumb without reason". He's stopped questioning and only believes. God gave us a brain so that we can use it and constantly be questioning it and thinking about everything, not so we could follow Him without giving it thought. I'm not saying that we shouldn't follow Him. I'm saying that sometimes something comes up like the bible saying that gay people are going to hell. Hello! We need to use our brains and not just mindlessly follow because maybe that's not at all what Jesus meant. I think that this song is him taking a look at his life and realizing that he is following without thought. |
