| I know! :D I found this song by watching the movie. :) I was so bad watching it, crying to the point of embarrassing. | |

To put it plainly I think this song is about a girl who loves a boy but knows that the other person isn't as committed to the relationship and is somewhat fickle in the sense that they aren't completely in the relationship, one foot in and one foot out of the door, so they could turn away from the girl unpredictably. She's afraid to let him go so she's asking him to let her go and let her live her life and try to find someone who would cherish and love her the way that he hasn't. She's saying she's been there for him the whole time, holding him and soothing him, though he was never ever there for her when she needed him. In the second verse it's as if he did leave her but she still hasn't come to peace with the fact and still holds him close to her heart. The bridge kind of puts across the point across that he's still there with her but she's been alone all along because he never truly loved her. The bridge was added in by Amy Lee, though the majority of the song was written by Ben Moody, so I kind of think that the bridge sort of contradicts with the second verse which is sort of stating that he has left. Though, despite that, this song is beautiful and is a song that eases its way into almost everybodies hearts. It sure did with mine. |

| Lifehouse – It Is What It Is Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is in no relation to the song, but I just wanted to say that I thought what you wrote was really beautiful and hope it inspires and brings hope to many people. I wish I could write something that beautiful. | |
| Marie Digby – Feel Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Feels like I've spent all this time Taking (to walls) Of the way it was before I think she is saying that she's spent all this time talking to him but he's never listened and done what she's asked him to so she feels she's been talking to walls. And then she goes on to say that it wasn't always like this and that she realizes she has to stop grasping onto the past and waiting for it to go back to the way it was because it's never going to go back to the way it was. She's saying that she's got to let the past go. Are you really there? Are you made of stone? Am I talking to someone? Or am I here all alone? She's saying that because he's so blase in the relationship and indifferent to her feelings she's wondering whether he really is in the relationship at all. She's asking whether she's alone in the concept of the relationship. Are you alive? Don't you feel? Show me you're here. Show me your tears. Don't you feel? Show me. Hold me. Speak up and tell me something Change my mind before it's too late Are you alive? Show me you're human. Can't you feel? In the chorus I think she's asking whether he's alive and human because he acts like a stone, devoid of genuine emotion. And she's asking him to show her that he feels and to cry to prove that he can feel. I then think she's asking him to speak up if he does feel and to anything to prove that he does love her becfore it's too late to change her mind on leaving him. Seems like you're stuck in a daze Slipping away I'm sick of trying to reach you Can't you say what's on your mind? Maybe we're losing a race Too far behind Tell me I'm not the only one Who can try Who can fight I think she's saying he's slipping away because of his lacking in the relationship. She's sick of trying to get him to say something or do something that is evidence he's committed as much as she is to the relationship, and then she's asking him to do something simple like saying what's on his mind, kind of putting across the fact that she doesn't want to force him but is instead trying to get him to take 'baby steps' and do something easy first. Sometimes the words, they don't get through What really speaks is what you do Open up, let me inside Just wanna find you In the bridge she's saying that words don't mean a thing compared to the actions that someone takes; since actions speak louder than words. And then she's going on to say that she wants him to open up to her and let her see the real him. Wake up Are you dead? Here I think she is telling him to wake up, but then going on to ask him whether he is dead, though not in the literal sense but in the sense of emotion and humanity. Asking him whether he is lacking of anything that would not hinder the relationship and set it back on track. And whilst the would totally be off subject, I'd like to end the comment saying that this song always reminds me, every time I listen to it, which is a lot, of Sookie Stackhouse and Eric Northman from True Blood and in the books. I mean, the lyrics are perfect for Eric. |

| SafetySuit – What If Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I read previous comments before firming my belief on what the song means and this is what I came up with. Safetysuit (boyfriend) wants to go to a different school or there is another reason that would take him away from the girlfriend and he's singing about how it affects her. She's supportive in the beginning though it does hurt her and she cries when he's not around: What if it makes you sad at me? And what if it makes you laugh now but you cry as you fall asleep? And what if it takes your breath And you cant hardly breathe? But then it sinks in that he wants to move away from her and she contemplates why he'd want to do that and it ends up hurting her more than he intended it to, because he does love her: What if what I want makes you sad at me? And is it all my fault or can I fix it please? Cause you know that I'm always all for you Cause you know that I'm always all for you And because he is away and she rarely see's him it makes her wonder whether he's staying true to her and not going off with other woman because she is not around, and how that affects the relationship from her perspective because she finds it hard to tell herself that everything is okay and then she starts to be angry at herself for letting him do what he wanted to do and wondering why she didn't fight more for him to stay: What if it makes you lose faith in me? What if makes you question every moment you cannot see? And what if it makes you crash And you can't find the key? What if it makes you ask how you could let it all go? And then I think the bridge is him just saying that they've talked on the phone and he's just telling her not to give up on them, and then he goes on to admit that the stress on their relationship is all his fault: And if this be our last conversation If this be the last time that we speak for awhile Don't lose hope and don't let go Cause you should know But because of all the 'What If's' in the song I think he's contemplating the decision and thinking about what would happened if he did move away from her. |
