| Train – 50 Ways to Say Goodbye Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
This song is hilarious to me. I've always LOVED Train, and this just confirms it for me. =D I think this song is about his girlfriend dumping him, and because he doesn't want to admit to all of his friends that she dumped him, so he told every one of them that she died. In different ways. I think after a while, he obviously ran out of lies and things to say, thus why he says: "Help me help me, I'm all out of lies And ways to say you died." Its pretty straightforward really, and hilarious to me. |

That's one of my favorite scenes in the movie! I was watching that movie just the other day, which is why I searched up the lyrics. I was kinda surprised to see the lyrics the opposite, where the guy is older singing to the significantly younger girl. =) |

To me, at the end when he's saying in the backround: 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry' It sounds like... well it sounds like he's having an orgasm. JUST SAYING! If you think about it... it fits. I love this song, its one of my favorites by Rooney! =D |

| Maroon 5 – This Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I just recently figured out what this line meant: 'Keep her coming every night.' You guys can say all you want, whether you think that I should stop being so dirty minded or that I shouldn't think that way... But it isn't the kind of come as in: 'Come over here.' Its... the other kind. And I know this because I was watching the music video the other day on this show. (It was the top 100 songs of the 2000's. I believe it was around 20) and they beeped out 'coming'. So I believe that's how Maroon 5 wrote the song. ANYWAY! I think what he's trying to do is have s-e-x (I'm young, I don't even like typing out the word.) with her so that she doesn't lose interest in him. |

| Train – Ordinary Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
First off, I thought it was saying: 'Whose eyes AM I behind' Anyway, I LOVE this song! I think he's also saying that everyone is getting the protection that they need, but he doesn't get anything. And what he REALLY needs, is the girl to love him. 'Everybody seems to be getting what they need Where's mine? Cause you're what I need So very but I'm anything but ordinary' I'm in love with this song! |

... That doesn't make me a guy, does it? 'Cuz... I wouldn't be heartbroken if they died. I might feel a LITTLE sad, 'cuz, I mean yah know, death is a horrible thing and all... and I wouldn't wish it on ANYONE... but yeah. I wouldn't be heartbroken. Sorry! |

Woah.... looking back at this... I musta flipped my lid... ^^; Sorry for anyone who read that and felt offended or anything... I feel offended myself just reading that! Sorry, I'm really a calm person and I didn't mean anything like that. I totally shot down everyone's opinion which wasn't what I wanted to do. Like, at all. ^^ Though, I still think that Jasmine is totally naive. XD That has nothing to do with the song, but she's following a stranger to his house... Creepy! XD Sorry again. I didn't mean to come off that way... ^^; |

| I hear the same thing. I was reading it while listening to the song and clearly hearing 'armor'. | |

Actually, Mary, theplacetoeffect is right, its a person. Not clothing. =) So don't worry about that! XD Although I believe my Aunt once really liked this song that was solely about sweaters... and she has one of the best tastes in music that I've ever heard... I think it was either Weezer or The Beatles... hmm. Anyway! No, not about clothing. Its a person who, I guess its safe to say, thought he had 'swag' back in the day. XD Hey, I'm not a street kinda kid, alright? I don't talk like that. XD |

| The Ting Tings – That's Not My Name Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think the "I'm the last kid standing up against the wall' is like in school when you pick teams for stuff like soccer. Since no one knows her name, they don't pick her, so she's the 'last kid standing up against the wall', as in waiting to be picked. At least, that's what I think. ^^; |

| Cobra Starship – Fool Like Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I LOVE THIS SONG! =D I think the meaning is pretty straight forward. A boy who's dating a girl that her parents and friends just don't approve of, and he's saying that he doesn't give a.... yeah. After all the stupid things that he did, (i.e. hitting her dog... XD) she still loves him! I think he's just counting his blessings that she hasn't dumped him yet. XD I like where he sings the bridge. =) |

| Disney – A Whole New World (Aladdin) Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Can ANYONE just look through the eyes of a kid for ONE SECOND and listen to the voices and the lyrics of this song WITHOUT their mind in the GUTTER? For one thing, this is from a KID'S movie, and no matter what you think of Disney, it is age appropriate as long as you stay simplistic enough to have a literal view in your mind. We all have our own opinions, but honestly, let's be realistic here. Its because of people who think like this, thinking with a dirty and tainted mind, that the world can be as scary as it is. Did you notice how naive Jasmine is as she follows this stranger from the MARKETPLACE to his HOUSE? No one would ever do that anymore due to people wanting to take advantage of others. Not everyone thinks like you do, and maybe, just MAYBE, they didn't mean that much when they were saying a whole new world? Try to at least get your minds up from the dirt that society is sinking in and wash yourself off with some water. You all are entitled to your own opinions and its in the eyes of the beholder here, but seriously, lets try to use some common sense and figure out that if they are playing this movie AND the song within it on DISNEY JUNIOR, where they still play shows like Winnie the Pooh, that this just may not be the real meaning. |

| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I don't really think that ericlmar is necessarilly "Pro Bush" I just think that they are saying that they don't "hate" him. That doesn't mean that they were behind him all the way. The whole time that Bush was in office, everyone around me hated him. So, I decided to hate him too. I didn't understand the reasons why we did so, but I felt like my family, friends, and anyone else wouldn't like me if I didn't. It was dumb not to know the reasons why. And I still don't know the reasons why. I really don't care. He isn't in office anymore. He may have done whatever he did to America, but to tell you the truth, I'm not all that in to politics. Now, as for the antiwar thing, I too am anitwar. And I'm sure that you all know this, but we can be anitwar and not anti soldier. I recently traveled to DC and I learned that when the soldiers came back from the Vietnam war, all of their friends, family, and citizens in the town that they lived in were throwing tomatoes at them and calling them names. They didn't greet them with a warm celebration. They couldn't seperate their feeling from war with their feelings toward the people who were in it. I am pro soldier, but antiwar yes. While I was in DC, I got to see the FDR memorial. In it, was a saying that I will never forget: " I have seen war I have seen war on land aand sea... I have seen blood running from the wounded...I have seen the dead in the mud. ..I have seen cities destroyed...I have seen children starving...I have seen the agony of mothers and wives... I hate war." ~Franklin Delano Roosevelt, FDR Memorial It is a beautiful and true saying. It tells us that war isn't a good thing at all. And never will be. It destroys people. It kills souls. It takes anger out on many innocent people. Yes, innocent. The soldiers were not the ones that hurt anyone. They didn't start the war. They didn't cause the problem. They just represent the countries. They represent their home. They volunteer. A soldier is a hero to me. To me, my definition of a hero is someone who risks or gives their life not only for their loved ones, but for strangers too. Think about it. That is what the soldiers are doing. They are not only risking their lives for their friends and family, but for us, we don't know all of them. We don't know who all of them are, or what all of their names are. Yet they still fight for us, and for our lives to get better. They leave their families behind to fight for the country as a whole. They are heroes. Thank you for reading, even if you didn't. |

| Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Look I don't want to be rude and I know that everyone has their own opinion of what they think songs and anything else means, but...... What the heck is wrong with you? Really. Don't be afraid to tell us. 'Cuz something must have happened to you. No person with a right mind thinks like that. Really. Have you jumped out of a window lately? How can you say that you are not racist when you call it s**t? I mean seriously. I don't think that Greenday thinks of this song like this, and I don't think you should have the right to say things like this. But you do. So whatever. But really, get some help. | |
| Michael Jackson – Smooth Criminal Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think that a murderer came into the window, and as he did, he shot the gun. I know that Mr. Jackson does use Ta in a lot of his songs, but I think that the Ta can refer to a gun shot. If you watch the music video, the gun he is holding makes a Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta sound. So, I think that it could mean that. I don't know, thats what I always thought. Love the song. Has anyone seen Cody Simpson perform on the show So Random? He tries to pull off the move I have only seen Mr. Jackson do, the lean. He has back-up dancers hold him back so he doesn't fall. I saw that and I have hated him ever since. I hate him now. I know many other people must too. | |
| The Fray – Over My Head (Cable Car) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| So before something happened to me, this song has always had a totally different meaning to me. But now, my interpretation has completely changed. I have become a little paranoid, as I and many other people can be now and then, and when I went to my ballet class, I completely thought that they were laughing at me. Whenever I hear people laughing and giggling, I automatically think that its about me. Anyway, I can get really annoying, and one day, I just totally ignored my friends. I was so into what we were doing in class that I barely talked to them. When I did say something, I overheard them after talking and laughing. I had a flashback and thought about this girl that I am friends with at school. I am like, her only friend that she has at schoool since she was homeschooled before. My friend talks about her just like my own friends were talking about me. It went on and kept going the whole class. Right in front of me. When I got home that night, I put on this song, and wanted to cry. Here is a couple of lines that I feel totally relate. "That everyone I knew was waiting on a cue. To turn and run when all I needed was the truth." Everyone I felt was just there to do what I did to other people. I never meant to. But they didn't even confront me. They "ran" and all I wanted to know was why. "Let's rearrange. I wish you were a stranger I could dissengage." The line that has always been my favorite. I really did wish that I never knew her. They were both being so rude, but I told myself I was getting worked up over nothing. But I really believe that I wasn't. I just wished that I wouldn't have to be so hurt 'cuz I didn't know them. But I did. I knew them. They were my firends, which is what I think hurt me the most. "I'm becoming a part of your past. I'm becoming the part that don't last. I'm losing you and its effortless." I am super sensitive when it comes to friends. All my life, I never had a real, true, sticking friend. Now, I don't even call anyone my "best friend" Pre-school:Never saw THEM again. Kindergarten:Weren't in my class the next year. 1st Grade:Left the school for second. 2nd Grade:My best friend moved away. 3rd Grade:We all made seperate friends. 4th Grade:Again, my best friend moved away. 5th Grade:I went to a different school than about 95% of the rest of the 5th Grade. 6th Grade:Said that I wasn't gonna have another best friend, but I did have another best friend, and she totally ditched me. She tries to talk to me even now, but I just ignore her. 7th Grade:The girl that gets mocked calls me her best friend, and I'm okay with it, but she's not mine. Its no big deal. Anyway, moving on. "Never thought that you wanted to bring ME down." I'm almost positive the word there is me and not it, but IDK. I really never thought that they wanted to bring me down. They just started to make fun of me. I wanted to cry. I thought that I lost them. But I didn't. Well, sorry! I love this song. Sorry if you read this whole sad sob story of me and my pififul life...XD. | |
| The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Ever since I read some of the interpretations on this website, I can't even think about these lyrics without crying. It is just so sad to me. I think that this song really hits it home for them. I think that the meaning is deeper than anything that anyone can ever say, even them. Some of my favorite lines. "I lost a friend, Somewhere along in the bitterness" "I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known, how to save a life" "Try to slip past his defense, without granting innocence" "Pray to God he hears you, And pray to God he hears you" I wanna cry... |

| The Script – The Man Who Can't Be Moved Lyrics | 14 years ago |

What most of you are saying is not how I ever thought of this song at all. Like ever. I never thought of the fact that they were once together, then broke up. Here is how I always took it: From the first time that I heard this song, I thought that he was like in a busy city, like New York, and that he was waiting for the crossing light with tons of other people, and he looks across the street, and he sees this girl. And he thinks its true love. He thinks that he'll love her forever. She just smiles and walks at the light. He tries to go through the crowd to get to her. He goes to the corner that she passed by, and she wasn't there. He can't see through the crowd of people, so he just waits. He stays on the corner that he saw her on. He waits there, and he waits there. He is fully committed to meeting this beautiful girl. Then, by the end of the song, he looks across the street, and he sees her. Standing at the corner that he was standing on so long ago. She smiles again, and gets caught up with the crowd. She crosses, he does too, and when he reached the sidewalk, shes gone. *That was just my own little music video/interpertion/meaning. Thats just what I have always thought this song meant. Everyone has their own meanings though. I don't know if anyone agrees with me. Thanks for reading!* |
