this song is definitely a grower... i can't stop "You're eyes, they start to roll when you're holding back" - love the way Keith sings this OSL's meaning is spot on, but I envision it to be about a secret from a girls past that holds her back and pushes her away. The singer tries to get past it, and can see the day when they will, but he must build her trust and wait for her to "Tell Me" If you connect with him, Keith Goodwin (and whoever collaborates with him) is one of the best songwriters of our time. |

To me this song is about losing yourself to be with the in crowd. "Friday night.... I think you lost your style" Then he goes on to say about how he chooses to be true to himself, and because of that is alone, "all the time" It could also be figurative, that maybe he does have a lot of friends, but none are really on his level in terms of thinking and living, and just try to be someone there not to fit in. Great song. Matt Embree has a gift of lyrics and channeling emotion, his songs are always very deep and have many meanings and possible meanings. |
