Wandering Star Lyrics
when the day is done
and i lay me down
i sit alone in my lonely bed
and i think about the day we had
and it makes me sad cuz your gone
when the day is done
and i lay me down
the sheets are cold
and your space is dark
and i hear you whisper something sweet
but it doesn't move any nerves in me
after all, i'm married to the wandering star
and i've kissed the moon
it was full when i fell in love with thee
but now the world turns without me
turns without me
when the day is done
and i lay me down
the sheets are cold
and your space is dark
and i hear you whisper something sweet
but it doesn't move any nerves in me
after all, i'm married to the wandering star
and i've kissed the moon
it was full when i fell in love with thee
but now the world turns without me
and i lay me down
i sit alone in my lonely bed
and i think about the day we had
and it makes me sad cuz your gone
when the day is done
and i lay me down
the sheets are cold
and your space is dark
and i hear you whisper something sweet
but it doesn't move any nerves in me
after all, i'm married to the wandering star
and i've kissed the moon
it was full when i fell in love with thee
but now the world turns without me
turns without me
and i lay me down
the sheets are cold
and your space is dark
and i hear you whisper something sweet
but it doesn't move any nerves in me
after all, i'm married to the wandering star
and i've kissed the moon
it was full when i fell in love with thee
but now the world turns without me

unbelievable song, unbelievable live.
it's very open for interpretation... it could be about missing someone, it could be that she can't fall in love with anyone or gets bored (follows a wandering star), or about her first love that has moved on
heard about it thru bon iver in rolling stone i believe
The lyrics in the album!! Amazing... I think it must be viewed as a whole story with chapters... The Woman who is leaving the husband she once loved ... has fallen for another (her 'teacher' although I think she refers to one teaching her about passion / love / sex, rather than a traditional school teacher) in an affair that hints with little subtlety, of S&M (Violent Games & Leading to Death) ... The child she won't leave behind to be with him (in Dark Star), the hints of perhaps this being her mother's way (seeing her mother letting her hair down through the (bedroom) window and not being allowed in there, perhaps because of her mother's lover, and perhaps that is why she is now putting her child first in her decision not to leave (Form & Dark Star)... and so she is still left behind, always chasing after love and happiness and while having a taste, never able to capture and sustain that bliss (Wandering Star)... Simply Beautiful & Tragic.
Channy was Married to Crescent Moon from Kill The Vultures and Mixed Blood Majority. Pretty sure this song is about her relationship with him.
It's about someone (the singer) who loves someone with all of their heart, but the "wandering star" is in love with life itself. The "wandering star" is unattainable and they don't realize that someone is deeply in love with them. They are a "Wandering" star because they are searching life for something that is other than the one that loves them. The singer is "married" to the wandering star because they won't let go of loving the person who is "wandering."
