I think it's about a guy who's always in his own head, he gets lost in his mind. Maybe he has a profession that encourages this like a musician or author rather than a more concrete and hands on job like laying bricks and working with cars or bridges, which is what his brother does. He needs the wisdom of his brother which is to actually do stuff rather than just be in your own head. In the first two lines of the first two stanzas it shows how this hinders him. He retracts from everyone and won't see them for some time and also his mom gives him advice about finding love and a home but he can't see anyone or find love and home because he's so lost in his own mind. |
