I feel this entry. Horrible and beautiful days.
Rap's not most people's style, including mine, but I adore everything Nujabes and Shing02. that stuff definitely shines. |

I have so many memories connected to this song. So many beautiful memories.
Last December I fell in love with my best friend, and it was so fucking amazing finally being with him after loving him quietly for several years. One cold night we were lying on the top of a precariously swaying tower, watching the stars and holding each other close. Then i went away to another country for the Christmas holidays, and spent many freezing nights listening to this song over and over again as I realised how much I missed and loved him.
Sadly we've gone our separate ways this spring. These memories keep me alive though, and hearing this song again helps me remember that we'll always be good friends even when we're not together. :) |

| Gotye – Making Mirrors Lyrics

This is my favourite Gotye track. He has so many astounding songs, but strangely enough this one minute piece of heaven is the best for me. The lyrics are so barely audible and the music so smooth and eerie and it all just sends shivers down my spine.
And even though I'd love to have it on repeat, it's just too holy to wear out like that. Respect for Gotye, major respect for making music like this. |

I swear this song is going to be hella famous one day. It evokes these epic feelings inside of me, it's incredible.
Now I haven't really formed my own impression of the song, but it gives a lonely, desolate feeling for sure. I really love the line "when your mind turns to fiction", it sticks. Musical and lyrical genius for sure! |

True, she was an amazing performer and really knew how to let the emotion seep into her voice...you can really feel her soul when you listen to her. R.I.P, dear Etta James. |

| Switchfoot – Let That Be Enough Lyrics

I can sing this line today: "It's my birthday tomorrow..." At least I know someone here will know =)
I loved this song from the moment I heard it, and it always reminds me of a special friend of mine who always used to play the intro on his guitar. I love how the lyrics are searching yet sort of fulfill themselves (if that makes sense). I always feel happy when I hear the chorus..."let that be enough." Though this is a simple song, it really holds a lot of meaning. |

Did you have to make that an 'awkward moment'? seriously, this awkward moment thing is too much. That's not awkward, that's sad. Very sad. |

I believe some of the lyrics are different...but still, this is a groovy song. Really great classic rock, though i'm not exactly sure what the 'midnight special' is all about. |

Does anybody have any idea why this song was banned by the BBC when it initially came out in '67?? It was supposed to condone drug use, but I think other songs are much more obviously druggie than this one. Some help here? |

Before they got lame and mainstream?? You obviously don't know much about the Beatles. Originally they were quite mainstream, though never lame. They were manufactured in the beginning, that's pretty obvious at least. However with the release of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which this song was on, the Beatles went in a more psychedelic direction. They started experimenting more. Anyway, my point is...they became more experimental after being mainstream. =D and the beatles were NEVER lame. |

Yeah, they were seriously talented man. They don't seem so original when we listen to them today, because it's not new now, but it certainly was fresh back in the 60's! They were so eclectically influencial that virtually every style of music we have now was affected by their music.
Nobody can ever deny their talent and influence. |

Though it is pretty obvious Lennon was high when he wrote this song, it is just a coincidence that the title is an acronym for LSD. Here’s an excerpt from this great link explaining it all: http://www.snopes.com/music/hidden/lucysky.asp
“Pete Shotton (Lennon’s good friend) , who was a frequent guest at the Lennon home, verifies that John's son Julian actually did produce and name the painting that John claimed was the inspiration for the song's title:
I also happened to be there the day Julian came home from school with a pastel painting of his classmate Lucy's face against a backdrop of exploding, multi-colored stars. Unusually impressed with his son's handiwork, John asked what the drawing was called. 'It's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Daddy,' Julian replied.
"Fantastic!" said John – and promptly incorporated that memorable phrase into a new song.
Though John was certainly ingesting inordinate amounts of acid around the time he wrote "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," the pun was indeed sheer coincidence.”

This is actually a trad Irish song, not Australian. like the person before me said, it's about convicts sailing to South Australia to start a new life.
A great song, with driving rhythm. It was wonderfully done by The Clancy Brothers as well. Love it! |

This song is soo adorable and I can't believe it's so unknown! I especially love the version that features Adam Young (a.k.a. Owl City) doing the harmonies. It's just a really cute song about being in love and enjoying the moment. =) |

Um, the melodies do sound similar but they're not identical. Similarities happen in the world of music...it's to be expected and I don't see why artits should go suing other artists just because a tune is similar to their own. |
