True Lyrics

I find it so hard to be true
And all these lies I'm telling you
Are little anchors in my chest
That pull us down into this mess
I find it easy to distract
And just as soon as you turn your back
I'll be gone again

I find it so hard to be true
And all these secrets I keep from you
Are like a blackness in my heart
That only tears us both apart
I find it easy to pretend
That we're not heading for our end
This I'm telling you

I built a wall
I cut you off
Now there's no lie
That's gonna fix this up
I played the saint
And a saint I ain't
Now all the hurt
Is here again.... here again

I find it so hard to be true
But I'm gonna try my best for you
And every distance that we've known
Will disappear before too long
And every line we've ever drawn
Will be erased before we're gone
And this I swear to you

I built a wall
I cut you off
Now there's no lie
That's gonna fix this hurt
I played the saint
I cursed your name
Now there's no one
But myself to blame

That you're gone.....

How could I live with this weight
You keep on pushing on me
You say it's never too late
I'm afraid it is though for me

When every word that you say
I cut my heart up on it
You only pushed me away
Till I was way beyond it

I'm moving on without you
There's no more fight left in me
I'm breaking down all the walls
You slowly built around me

Why do you ask for my trust
When you´re not worthy of it
I find it hard to adjust
To the lines you´re drawing for me

Wait!!!

The lyrics at the end, from the man himself, are actually :

How could I live with this weight, you keep on pushing on me, you say it's never too late, I'm afraid it is though for me Now everything that you say, I cut my heart upon it, you only pushed me away, till I was way beyond it.

I'm moving on without you, there's no more fight left in me, I'm breaking down all the walls, you slowly built around me. Why do you ask for my trust, when you´re not worthy of it? I find it hard to adjust, to the lines you´re drawing for me.

This song is pretty self explanatory really.

It's about being unable to remain true to someone and cheating on them. Perhaps not in the literal sense of cheating on someone with another person, but a deeper, more emotionally routed cheating - i.e you don't love or want them anymore, but you just can't tell them. Either because you don't want to hurt them, or more likely, because you're too arrogant and selfish to risk being lonely yourself when the inevitable split occurs.

It's an insecure song too, from the writer's point of view. And a song about passing your insecurity and trust issues onto someone else and tieing them to you, when in reality, you're just using them as a prop, or an anchor.

this is the best description ever for this song. i have lived the life of this protagonist before, exactly to a T.

the lyrics here have many errors, slso neither of you are right with the lyrics at the end of the song even if Glen did tell you himself! its

How could I live with this weight You keep on pushing on me You say it's never too late I'm afraid it is though for me

When every word that you say I cut my heart up on it You only pushed me away Till I was way beyond it

I'm moving on without you There's no more fight left in me I'm breaking down all the walls You slowly built around me

Why do you ask for my trust When you´re not worthy of it I find it hard to adjust To the lines you´re drawing for me

I'd love to see the additional lyrics that come in in the last minute or so (at "that you're gone...")--that's my very favorite part of the song. Just amazing.

here's the lyrics from the end:

We had it down in the end to You know I hate it this way You keep on pushing on me They say it's never too late I'm afraid it is now for me

When every word that you say I can't know how I can believe And now you've pushed me away Till I was way beyond me

I know I'll be lonely without you But there's no fight left in me I'm breaking down all the walls You slowly built around me

Why do you ask for my trust? When you're not worthy of it? I find it hard to adjust To the lines you're drawing for me.

the verses are sung exactly as the verses of "climbing up the walls" by radiohead are sung. im unimpressed.

Um, the melodies do sound similar but they're not identical. Similarities happen in the world of music...it's to be expected and I don't see why artits should go suing other artists just because a tune is similar to their own.
