| Red – Out From Under Lyrics

While technically this could be about a romantic relationship, I seriously doubt that it is. Clearly, it seems to be someone's cry out to God. They are going through a hard time in their life, and they want to know why God didn't step in. As Christians, we know that God is strengthening us through our sufferings, but sometimes it is still hard to understand why we would go through it. We may find ourselves questioning God, asking why he would put us through it. This song is clearly about just that. |

The song is definitely about a boy-girl relationship. One of them feels that they've lost the other, but they are optimistic that it's not over yet. |

Basically, it's about a relationship. It could be a boy-girl, or a parent-child, or friend-friend relationship. Basically, though, assuming it isn't a parent-child relationship, it seems to be about growing apart from an important person in your life. You feel that you are on the right track in life, but (it implies) that they are on the wrong track in life. You want them back, but you've grown too far apart, and the void seems impenetrable. This would definitely make sense with a boy-girl relationship.
The whole concept of the album is about finding your identity. This song seems to be about losing someone important to you, which definitely has a huge effect on your identity. |

| Breaking Benjamin – The Diary of Jane Lyrics

I doubt this is the actual meaning of the song, but it sorta fits. The name "Jane" could mean "Jane Doe", the name used for an unidentified dead woman. Note that in the music video there is one part with a grave at the end. When he says he is trying to find his place in the diary of jane, he could mean that he is trying to make a difference in the lives of everyday people, but the song would imply that he isn't successful. To me, this interpretation could be wrong, but when you think about it, it sort of makes sense with the lyrics. |

| 30 Seconds to Mars – A Modern Myth Lyrics
| 14 years ago

I'd say the meaning is obvious.
The "modern myth" he is talking about is love itself (he feels at this time that love is a myth). This song is basically about losing love. It's left him so broken, it's hard for him to believe it really happened, and it leaves him feeling as if he imagined it. He's finally bought the truth that love is a myth (that's how he feels right now, anyway). He was selling lie to himself, then, when he told himself earlier that the relationship would work out (he told himself this when he was well into the relationship). The "secret" that is out could be him saying that it's no secret that that relationship won't work out. Beyond that, though, the song is pretty self-explanatory.
Of course, one might not agree that love is a myth, but you have to understand that he's not making a universal statement. Rather, he is saying how he felt at the time. Could this be yet another song about his breakup with Cameron Diaz? |
