I think this song is pretty straight forward. This song can come off as a little harsh thanks to the lyrics "Whoever said that beauty on the inside is a liar," but I personally think that we all at times have been attracted to someone solely based on their looks. I mean, looks are what catches our attention THEN we get to meet the personality behind that amazing physique. Of course, there are those situations where, yes, we do get to see someone's personality soon enough to hook us, even if the person isn't the best looking guy/girl out there. But this song talks about how there are those fortunate people out there that look so extremely hot and good looking that we don't care for the "beauty on the inside." This song is meant for those that literally broke the mold and are truly gorgeous, those that walk in a room and make you turn your head because they are simply TOO good looking or as Britney says, drop dead beautiful. |

This is a very good interpretation. I think the obvious would be to understand it as its literal meaning, of breaking up with someone but wanting them just for one last time, but I really liked your interpretation. This song probably does mean both things, how we can't resist having our exes for one last time and how we can't fight temptation of other things that make us "happy" (whether they be, drugs, alcohol, relationships, sex, anything that can be addictive), basically what you're saying. Good job man! |

this would have fitted so well with Blackout, I get the image of a very bitchy girl singing this to her ex. Like "STFU and move on, i'm f**king guys and are way better than you" haha. To me, it seems like a good girl gone bad, she used to be so well behaved and the perfect girl to the guy, but he probably screwed things up and now she's sorta becoming a bad girl for revenge. haha im all making scenarios in my head, but thats the imagery i get from this song lol |

i think this song basically means that the only good thing from the man she's referring to in this song, is another baby. he's so useless for anything else, "needed a fight as an excuse to get away from me..." "no more chains that you gave me..." definitely shows how the relationship is basically dead. There is no hope to make it better so she's being honest, all that she wants is another baby. I specifically like the part where she sings "The silly pattern that I followed/I saw my mama being swallowed/By the one, who she loved/He pulled her down, couldn't see up above/Manipulation was his key/He screwed it in, 'cause she was naive..." she's looking back at how her relationship is going the same way as what she saw with her mom, so she needs to run away, end the relationship. I dont wanna conclude this song is autobiographical for her, but ummmm..... Kevin Federline sure fits the description of a douche. |

Yeah, it is pretty obvious. Songs usually do not mean their literal meaning and this is no exception. I don't think she's talking about an actual physical place (a basement, club etc). She obviously doesn't mean you need juice, the one you drink, to get in. From her perspective, most girls don't like IT, so it is true you "have to work your way around" to get to IT. The place is definitely hot and pumping, and most definitely it is hard to get into and find it!! Of course you need some juice!! It couldn't be more obvious! |

I think this song means different things, not just the literal meaning of "being in love with a criminal." I think it's about how in life, we usually don't always make the correct decisions, and we are stubborn to go on the route we feel is right, even if it isn't. Even if our parents, authorities, and other types of social institutions tell us that OUR way isn't the best, that we are making a mistake, we want to do it our way and follow our gut! Like in this song, sometimes we even know our way is definitely wrong, "And even I know this ain't smart" but we gotta take our risks and do what we feel is right for us at that moment. In this song, Britney says she's in love with a criminal, not what any parent would like their children to be involved with. But at the end of the day, like Britney says, "I will be alright" because even if we are not, we gotta move on and learn from our mistakes. AMAZING song! Love everything about it! |
