| Regina Spektor – Après Moi Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| sounds pretty good in english as well... | |
| Muse – Blackout Lyrics | 13 years ago |

the third verse is the answer to the first and second verses. right? i mean, 'don't kid yourself, don't fool yourself' is sang kind of cynically in the 1st and 2nd verses. and in the third verse it's passionate and totally free of irony. like, reflecting on life/love. just because love hurts, doesn't mean you shouldn't. just because life ends, doesn't mean you shouldn't live it. and this could be our last moments on earth. so why (the fuck) not? don't give up on life. don't dwell on hurt. we're all humans, and all we have is each other. |

| I Hate Myself – Secret Lovers At The Heaven's Gate Ranch Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Yeah, it's probably a reference to the Heaven's Gate cult, right? I'm thinking maybe it's a tongue-in-cheek reference tho, and maybe the song is a metaphor for any two lovers living on earth, faced with the prospect of a certain (eventual) death. Don't swallow. | |
| The Vaselines – The Day I Was A Horse Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Maybe it's about some macho trip. I mean a horse is a pretty virile symbol, and then in the 2nd verse the house that he 'rescue(s)' all his friends from could symbolize the home life, marriage, you know. Then in the 3rd verse seems like he comes off his trip with the help of a 'girl'. So it could be about this guy who just lives like a complete macho asshole for, I don't know how long, a day could be as long as you want it to, and then finally comes to his senses. Maybe? | |
| British Sea Power – Living Is So Easy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
a rough interpretation, please criticize/expand: it sounds like he's talking about celebrity culture and how some celebrities live in their own world; living is so easy. they don't have any idea about class divisions, as far as they know everyone's coming to the party, the poor, the rich, the cops, the communists, the capitalists. a cynical view of their life: photo ops at the charity event, getting pissed and showing off their panty lines for the paparazzi. struggling to survive doesn't exist in their minds. living is so easy. the kids are wearing designer clothes in the projects, all that luxury will trickle down. everyone is going to the party. it's just a start, these lyrics are really compelling and it's such a great song. |
