Linkin Park – Blackout Lyrics 14 years ago
hmmm first time i listened to this song, it emidiatly burned a very strong personal meaning to me, into my mind. to me, it highly resembles someone under pressure from someone else, a part of some bad relationship, boss and employee, parent and child, boyfriend and girlfriend...

whichever it is, (to me father and son) the son, is highly dominated and controlled by the other, to the point of having no freedom, no voice, and is jaunted and abused too. at the start, they have finally plucked up the courage to confront them. they have thier arguments planned out, they do thier best to keep it tipped towards a civil argument...

but they just cant manage to keep it like that. with the new courage and power they are finding as this person who has oppressed them, ignores thier argument, and tries to crush thier spirit down once more... and the confrontation heats up, notice how the song raises in violence and anger. in power, closer to the middle, until at last the singer is totally silent, and only the violent instrumentation is left...

the one rebelling wins the fight. but in the process goes way too far... be that killing thier oppressor, or simply beating them down until they cannot oppress anymore, it is the calm after the storm... the last part of the song, calm, lucid. it resembles that moment when you sit back, and realise what you have done. perhaps even do not believe you could have, or that you dont think its real, it is so unlike yourself...

but yeeeah just personal meaning ;>>

i know what you all think, but it almost sounds as if the relationship in the song, be it spiritual with his god, or emotional with a person etc, it sounds more like they are sad about being lost in them. like they have lost thier own identity in a relationship that is addictive to them like a drug. i know the lyrics are happier, but the way they sing it tells a different tale. remember how thier songs 'nothing and everything', and 'fight inside' have the same lyrics, but wholey different meaning.

great song.

Take That – Kidz Lyrics 14 years ago
anyone agree with me that this was probably made in support of the large number of student protests that took place in england just before the song was made?

the song would appaer to be a statement about the protests. the first half about the kids protesting and how hard it is for them to get thier views through. being one of the students at the protests i know that there is alot of pressure and anger building up over the coalition governments acts and policy on education. 'there'll be trouble when the kidz come out' could be reffering to the first majour student protest where they took over the tory HQ making the english government look like a load of fools.

the lines 'out on the street tonight, they'er making peace tonight, they'er making peace' could have two different meanings here. the first is that the students are trying to make peace over the whole situation, or much liklier the line is a satyrical take on the police brutality and the harsh crackdown on the student protests that took place after the first one, the mass arrest kettling tactics that were employed and the use of fear to dissuade further protest, like the handing out of arcadian scentences for minor protesting offences, like this example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb0IEdEuT0M&feature=player_embedded . the police syrens in the background of that part of the song is probably making it more likely to be the latter meaning.

Red – Nothing and Everything Lyrics 14 years ago
this entire album very acuratly describes how a person suffering from manic depression feels. this song has the same lyrics as the first one and yet sends the opposite message of strength and hope that the first one sends. people suffering from manic depression go through the same sort of loop, of downtrodden sorrow, to strength and uplifting, the struggle to get over the problems and then sinking back into the sorrow.

he is dying. the first half is as he dies, the second half is what he finds once he is dead.
