The sun has set, I close my eyes
I pretend everything's alright
Drowning in anger from all these lies
I can't pretend everything's alright
Please don't let me fall forever
Can you tell me it's over?
There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master
I try to save you, but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows
Caught in the darkness, I go blind
But can you help me find my way out?
Nobody hears me, I suffer the silence
Can you tell me it's over now?
There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master
I try to save you, but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows
I'm holding onto you
I'm holding onto you
There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master
I try to save you, but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows
I pretend everything's alright
Drowning in anger from all these lies
I can't pretend everything's alright
Please don't let me fall forever
Can you tell me it's over?
I try to save you, but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows
But can you help me find my way out?
Nobody hears me, I suffer the silence
Can you tell me it's over now?
I try to save you, but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows
I'm holding onto you
I try to save you, but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go
I need with you with me as I enter the shadows

Co-written by Benjamin Burnley, lead singer of rock band Breaking Benjamin, “Shadows” channels the psyche of a person pleading to break out from a box of hate, anger and loneliness. As is common to RED’s style, “Shadows” captures different moods and energies, from the somber loop-driven verses to the guitar-heavy anthem-chorus to the whispered bridge and abrupt screams. Though on the surface it’s about not wanting to be alone, “Shadows” is really an honest cry for help while standing before a hurdle that is simply too high. “When we ‘enter the shadows’ we yearn for something larger than ourselves to lead us through.”
Red just summed me up. Again. O.O Are these guys spying on my life through a crystal ball? xD
I feel the same way!!!! Its like every song was just me feelings and thoughts written down....and than sang obviously. Haha

yeah, the sounds is kinda the same, but with new fresh songs, cant do anything else than love it :)
hey they are errors
it's "The sun has set" not "Sunset"
and it's "I try to save you" not "I tried to save you"
just pointing that out(i have the booklet)
i love this song
When he says "I need you with me as I enter the shadows". I think he is saying no matter what hard times we are going through we always need God with us
this is an amaaaazing song with such meaning....with the chorus..'There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master I try to save you, but I can't find the answer I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go I need with you with me as I enter the shadows"...each and every person has a small amount of hate and anger it them and in the chorus ..the hate is just over flowing and taking over...and we've all tried to help someone but cant seem to do the right thing..well right there..its like two people are both being controled by the same emotion and while one person is trying to save them..they get sucked in thmself..but no matter what that one person will never let go of the other because they will need them by their side as they go through the same thing.
BEN BURNLEY HELPED WRITE THIS SONG!!!!!
Every time I hear it I think, 'Yup. That's Ben.' It's not that Jason and Ben's voices sound alike, because they don't, but you can just hear Ben in this song. For instance, the solo between the last two choruses: come on; who isn't hearing Lights Out? I don't think of this as a RED song. To me, this is Breaking Benjamin, and while it's a little...sappier, I guess is the word, it's just so...Ben. And the random screams...Breaking Benjamin to a fault. This song was clearly heavily influenced by Breaking Benjamin.
this band just keeps putting out great music. they are amazing
The chorus of this song gives me chills. :)
I just got out of a hard time filled with confusion. Went to church, got it all cleared up with The Big Man Upstairs. This song reminds me of what I went through and that I always need God, he's always with me as I enter dark times (Shadows). RED is a christian band, most of their songs are about God, most people just don't realize it. I have 2 interpretations for each of their songs, one with God, and the other with people I know or situations I've been through. I relate a lot to all of their songs. Great band!
