The Dev's own words about this song (I'm not him just have the same name, pre-emptive attempt to disperse any confusion.) This is from the hevy devy forum: Deconstruction: Analyzing something to the point of confusion, then taking a step back and realizing that it actually has no relevance to your life, embarrassment leads to pursuing what you actually want. |

Sorry for the second post but this is 'The' Devin's explanation of both the name of this song and a little insight to it's meaning. Juular: Started as 'Jugular' till I messed up the spelling, then decided it would be a good name for a fictional religious fanatic who spends his life in penance not due to appreciation of the infinite, but more based on the need to be right. |

I just love the 'Lady Vagine' bit , freakin' Borat reference- well me and my friends use it all the time. When I read that bit of lyric I had to make sure my eyes were working, laughed so hard. ;P Only my second listen of the song (properly), don't know what to say about it yet other than that! |

Such an immense song- I'm feeling elements of different bits of his material at around 8 mins I get such a vibe of his classic signature sound underneath the beginnings of Decon madness. ... Ready? |

| It's not as powerful as The Cure version but I like how messy and distorted everything is and you have that piano line coming through crisp and clear. Makes it feel more lonely/ isolated. | |

I always felt that the beginning sounds like a leader of a people who are used by others in this town, perhaps some underclass/slaves lead to believe they would be treated better (all those empty words?). Perhaps the singer isn't just one person, but a group of people- and not a split personality or whatnot. The father ain't always like the son - perhaps alluding to that these 'people' are persecuted because of their ancestors but do not deserve it now Our beloved kin never learned to fit in Now I pay for my name, live my life in sin How much less can I ask from you people? This town stays in disarray 'Til the rules are the same for us all -- Whatever these people are they don't fit in (perhaps due to religion etc), either the individual or group of people are recognised by their name (like how people can spot a ''jewish'' or ''arabic'' name etc, also links in with 'father ain't like the son) and well you get the rest. The town will stay under threat until there is equality. |

| I'm ftm (female to male) transexual so this song for me has that kind of interpretation, as well as other aspects. Bits of the song remind me of that but I don't think that was the intention, then again the best songs are made to be up to the listener to interpret as to how they feel. | |
