The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Turn on, tune in, drop out... Either through the use of drugs, meditation, or by whatever means, enabling everyone to see the bigger truths, connections, and meaning beyond ordinary reality. Think how the world would change for the better if all could attain enlightenment... |
The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"So, at the end of the day, I think this is a song that contemplates a life of confusion, bewilderment, ecstasy, ambilivence, engagement, tempation, violence, brilliance, all converging on eachother simultaneously..." I think this one statement sums it all up quite succinctly and gracefully. |
Rodriguez – Sugar Man Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I've heard this one song many times, but knew nothing about the artist nor had heard any more of his work. I'm interested now in the new acclaimed doc on his life and in hearing more. |
Funkadelic – Super Stupid Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Don't mean to nit-pick, but this is Funkadelic, not Parliament Funkadelic. They came later. All George Clinton's genius, though. |

Laura Marling – Rambling Man Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Someone already pointed out the missing verse in an earlier comment, but there are a couple of other small corrections that need to be made. I'll submit my attempt of the entire song below the bulleted explanations; I believe it is correct :) ***In addition to the missing verse, the first line of the second verse should be "Creatures veiled by night", not "...fade by night" (also pointed out by another astute commenter above). ***The last line of the second verse is the same as the last line of the first, using the word 'You'll" in both places instead of "they'll" as it says here. ***After the chorus, the 3rd verse begins with the word "The", which is left out above. ***After the 4th verse, which ends with the line, "I'll be damned if I'll be found there," the chorus is repeated. ***Then, the 5th verse, which is missing above except for the last line (mistakenly inserted as part of the 4th verse), is sung. I've included that verse in the version I'm submitting here. I think that's all? Except for the missing verse, all are minor mistakes, but hey--a song as brilliant as this deserves to be correct :) Here's my interpretation: Oh naive little me Asking what things you have seen And you're vulnerable in your head You'll scream and you'll wail till you're dead Creatures veiled by night Following things that aren't right And they're tired and they need to be lead You'll scream and you'll wail till they're dead But give me to a rambling man Let it always be known that I was who I am The beaten, battered, and cold My children will live just to grow old But if I sit here and weep I'll be blown over by the slightest of breeze And the weak need to be lead And the tender I'll carry to their bed And its a pale and cold affair I'll be damned if I'll be found there But give me to a rambling man Let it always be known that I was who I am It's funny how the first chords that you come to are the minor notes that come to serenade you and it's hard to accept yourself as someone you don't desire as someone you don't want to be Oh give me to a rambling man Let it always be known that I was who I am Oh give me to a rambling man Let it always be known that I was who I am |
