| Pearl Jam – Faithfull Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| I may be a little tid bit high and drunk on the love potion. BUT!: This song to me has always sounded like an ode to realizing that love (it’s left vague here, though the playful language strongly suggests romantic love) is the quickest way to connect to the man above (which I think is meant to suggest a resigned interpretation for a higher power as the good ol’ g.o.d., but that it’s an overall interpretation to a connection to an universal unknown?). I mean in this world what’s really a boy to do? How is one to achieve any sort of fulfillment knowing there is so much one can’t know and do in one lifetime? Especially when we’re socially/environmentally kept in a box of fear- in which we can’t hear our voice anymore. Inside so drowned out… YOU are drowned out. So just be good to me. And it’s the closest I’ll ever get to feeling connected to a higher purpose. Our relationships to one another is where we find meaning in the end. The man above is our humanity. | |

I am tempted to comment on each of Dondero's songs. Several times. It's ridiculous this guy gets no recognition, while so much terrible music is out there. I think it's just a symptom of how crappy our society is. |

| Funny that they won the Grammy five years after you wrote this. Kinda sad, too. | |
| Townes Van Zandt – If I Needed You Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I must admit I am a new listener to Van Zandt. The Be Good Tanyas covering "waiting around to die" did it for me. If you want to see the reincarnation of a songwriting genius no one knows about, check out David Dondero when he comes to your town. |

| Andrew Bird – Oh No Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm not arguing about Andrew Bird. But someone who may rival him is Martin Tielli. See: "We didn't even suspect that...". It's hard to find but you'll feel like you've discovered something truly precious. And please, do share this :) | |
| Deerhunter – Earthquake Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm warning you in advance that this may be the dumbest thing you've ever heard. However, I hear spooky, but I also hear bittersweet memories and even some jealousy. Do you bone the sheets? Do you think of me? How long with the heat? How long was he (as in, how long did he last sexually)? I hear a breakup between two, and one having some difficulty perhaps with the other being with someone else. I warned you ! | |

With all respect, everything could be seen as a drug reference. Everyone argues points like this on the tenclub website. Although I respect the variance of opinnion, I can not laugh at how silly it is to think that great songwriters like Eddie love to talk about drugs and getting off them. I can assure you that going cold turkey off of anything takes longer than 3 days for suddenly everything to seem simple. Again, I think other people are right- it's about Charles Bukowski, the writer. Go read Bukowski and you'll understand. |

I never heard about the Bukowski reference. But it makes perfect sense. How strange- I logged in because I wanted to see comments about my favorite PJ song, and I hear it's in large part about Bukowski? I guess I should not be surprised. For those of you who have never heard of Bukowski, go be fed. You won't be hungry for long. |

| Azure Ray – On and On Again Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"we were victims of bad bad timing" not "we werer their dumbs of bad bad timing". Sometimes the original lyrics posted on this site are hillarious. As for this song, I have to say that when Maria says: "Cause I have been lied to and I've been made a fool" it's my favorite Azure Ray moment. To me this song sums up their entire musical catalog. Amazing harmonics, great ending, great heartbreaking lyrics signifying life and what it means to be human, to hurt, to feel, I mean to really use the bad times not only as steppign stones to happiness (and reminders of how unpleasant it is), but to really feel the hurt in order to truly be human. To sit in it. When I listen to this song I really feel like I'm sitting in it. I saw them live twice and I can't wait for the next time. Last time in Phoenix Nov'10 and when Maria sang that line: "Cause I have been lied to..." it was really cool to hear her voice break. it was obvious that she meant what she was singing about. And what else could one hope for at a live show? |

| Azure Ray – Larraine Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I found the below on another site. They make more sense. it could have been a patch Some say that it was cursed You spent your whole life Trying to wash away the dirt They said that you were nothing With the hands under your skirt So you taught yourself a way With a rag under your shirt Oh larraine Your daddy loved you wrong While he pointed his gun Your mother turned her face Being princess of grace Oh larraine They left you in the woods To find your way back like a dog You cried in the dark While they drank beers on the lawn Oh larraine Oh larraine The nightmares wouldn't stop So you drink them to a haze But when you cut the lines They put you away You had a little girl Who wrights songs about your pain An episode of grace Now she's living in l.a. Oh larraine Oh larraine Most of them i never knew But that is just as well Even as i cry for you I know they're all in **** Oh larraine Don't you know it was all for you larraine Everything i did was for you loarraine 'cause what they did to you they did to me |
