@[justjava2:2498] You're not completely wrong, it's about the "k-hole" or sensation of disassociation or derealization that comes with taking a bunch of ketamine. So, like correct meaning, but just the disassociation is caused by drugs, and not a mental disorder. |

To me, it seems to be about a feeling of hopelessness. "We're going nowhere". Like we have no future and there's no hope. The look in our eyes would be that we're dead inside, and we live our lives like we're ready to die because, again, it all feels hopeless. I'm probably projecting, but it just seems to encapsulate a lot of the feelings that depression cause. |

@[Femhero:2492] The writing on the wall is an expression. Basically it means that "the wolves are at my door" something is impending and has nearly got him "But I can't see the writing on the wall" but he can't see the obvious signs. |

This song, among many others is very anti religious. It's critical of the 12-step program, as others said, so I won't get into that. But it's very clearly a criticism of that as well as those who blindly follow religion. "We speak in tongues" is obviously about the religious crazy people who "speak in tongues" at church and whatnot.
The first verse is all sarcastic, he's facetiously saying that the religious program works. Then all the "Fuck your faith" express his real anger and frustration with organized religion.
"There's no hope for us... blacker than the sun, no death can touch the crooked young" is the only lyric where it's not explicitly obvious what he's talking about. I think he means that those people who blindly believe and put their faith in something invisible or fake are lost with no hope. He refers to them as "the crooked young", because it's often the younger religious individuals who are the most fervent, and that makes them the most sad and terrifying. "Blacker than the sun" probably is just referring to their hearts and morals and how they do and preach such immoral hate.
I honestly don't see how anyone could possibly think Oli is religious, not if you look at all his lyrics and give a cursory listen or read to his many interviews. |

@[mikeyk:2491] I'm pretty sure all of his references to a god in any of his songs are either critical, sarcastic, figurative, or just a biblical reference. None of what I've seen/heard would suggest that he believes in a god. |

Is it just me, or do the lines "I'd like to keep cutting, but I can't stand to see myself bleed" seem intentionally backwards? Like people who cut usually WANT to stop, but feel a need to see themselves hurt/bleed. Just thought that was interesting. |

Yeah, it's not about MGS as much as it's simply a reference. The intro music is similar to MGS's opening music, and the harmonic bend during the breakdown, right before he shouts "fuck" sounds kinda like the alert noise when you've been seen in the MGS games. |

"If there wasn't a god, why are there so many Christians" Guess what; people can be WRONG. A lot of people believed Hitler, and they were all wrong. I honestly don't get how people believe the Bible. it's literally a bunch of stories and ideas stolen from other older religions. How can you think that it's all one thing and correct? get out of here with your old-fashioned and obsolete beliefs. |

The video, at least, is about her struggle with being dropped from labels early on. The opening sequence in the hospital is a reference to, one of her idols, Frida Kahlo, who was in an accident and, after recovering, became an artist. |

I personally don't believe in a god because the christian god seems like a dick. He kills people, creates disease and war and disasters. If there is a god, he does hate us. If the bible really is the word of God then he's just creating violence and terror against his own children/ The bible says slavery of people of a neighboring country is completely fine, and, in one part, that homosexuality is a sin. If he loves everyone then why would he choose to allow his followers to kill and enslave his own children? It doesn't make sense. |

I totally agree, i loved The Rev, i thought he was amazing. My drummer introduced me to a7x and the rev shortly before the rev passed on. When i heard fiction i almost cried, but i didn't know why. now i do, after listening to the lyrics , i am convinced that this was a suicide note, of sorts. He knew he was going to die, not necessarily willingly though. Correct me if im wrong, but wasn't a drug addict? I think he knew that disease was going to kill him in the end. |
