Seems to be a recurring theme in this album - talking about the loss of the idealistic romance of love as people fall into and out of love and find another person to be the target for their love. The protagonist or the other party in these songs often seem to have cheated on the other (but not in this song). Great intro - sounds a bit like Mansun though. Wouldn't mind hearing a bit of a darker sounding song from the Mystery Jets. |

You could be right, esp as (some) people have lemon with tea. Lyrics are quite repetitive - which is ok for a poppy song |

Obviously it's about feeling cheated on but does anyone think he's (also) talking about asphyxiation during sex/ blow jobs. Or is that too crude? (See reference to choking and toe curling - probably also referring to emotions). I wonder if the bunhouse is a pub somewhere. Kinky admissions? |
