Seems to be a recurring theme in this album - talking about the loss of the idealistic romance of love as people fall into and out of love and find another person to be the target for their love. The protagonist or the other party in these songs often seem to have cheated on the other (but not in this song). Great intro - sounds a bit like Mansun though. Wouldn't mind hearing a bit of a darker sounding song from the Mystery Jets.
