I never thought of it that way...maybe cause when i first heard this song it made me think of my mom and me. "You were running out of lies to keep me under Afraid of your back hands So to speak, you had me shaking at the knees" She put me with my g-ma and always told me it was because she needed to get back on her feet but really she was doing meth and as i got older she ran out of lies to tell me...and now shes afraid of all that comming up and biting her in the butt. Then i try to see this part from my moms POV "No, I dont know the way out of this mess And if you would've seen me at my best Would it have changed anything at all?" Like maybe if i had seen her at her best things might have bee diffrent.
