| Haste the Day – Crush Resistance Lyrics | 15 years ago |

To me, this song is sung from the wolf's perspective. The wolves are also a metaphor for anyone who desires to do evil, subterfuge, and prey on those who are weak. Storm the halls and all the rooms And break resistance All who will choose the narrow road Will be the victims Crush resistance! Withdraw the power Seek to bring down the leader Devour the smallest of the pride And wring the blood from your fur For they're as white as the morning, But they are weak from the need to forgive Cover yourselves with the flesh of their fallen And dress for the banquet For they are weak and unknowing! Dress for the banquet This states how they will utilize manipulation and duplicity in order to achieve their goals. They will appear as one way while they have other intentions. Perhaps preying on weaker Christians who are more unsure of their faith. |

This song ultimately reflects the Christian's role in protecting and defending those who are more susceptible to the evils in the world (wolf attacks) We've been sent with eyes to see them and ears to hear their steps. Our hearts that are softer than the sheep As Christians we are able to identity what is right and what is wrong. We know when someone is essentially up to no good and thus, we are able to see/hear it. We've been known to calm the storm and silence the ocean. With strength to spare you from their teeth. This can be a reference to when Jesus calmed the storm. It ultimately asserts that Christianity has performed miraculous things, but our strength has not diminished. |
