Dog Like Vultures Lyrics

Who will protect you
from these dog like vultures?
And I know they're small
but their bite is sharp.

We've been sent with
eyes to see them
and ears to hear their steps.
Our hearts that are softer than the sheep.

We've been known to calm the storm
and silence the ocean
with the strength to spare you from their teeth.

Our eyes are upon you
and we will protect you
and be assured that
no fang will breech
your fleece

Because we are called to lead
and sent to gather.
So, bare your teeth
and sharpen your claws.

We've been sent with
eyes to see them
and ears to hear their steps.
Our hearts that are softer than the sheep

We've been known to calm the storm
and silence the ocean.
With strength to spare you from their teeth.

From their teeth.
And their blood will spill like water
in a fountain for thieves
and liars.
So bare your teeth
and sharpen your claws.
Because we hold the keys

And we've been sent with
eyes to see them
and ears to hear their steps
and hearts that are softer than the sheep.

We've been known to calm the storm
and silence the ocean.
With strength to spare you from their teeth.
From their teeth.

This song ultimately reflects the Christian's role in protecting and defending those who are more susceptible to the evils in the world (wolf attacks)

We've been sent with eyes to see them and ears to hear their steps. Our hearts that are softer than the sheep

As Christians we are able to identity what is right and what is wrong. We know when someone is essentially up to no good and thus, we are able to see/hear it.

We've been known to calm the storm and silence the ocean. With strength to spare you from their teeth.

This can be a reference to when Jesus calmed the storm. It ultimately asserts that Christianity has performed miraculous things, but our strength has not diminished.

I agree with prawns that this song is about protecting and defending those susceptible to the evils of the world. The way in which we can do this is by pointing out and stopping the sinful ways of people and ridding the world of evil. It is difficult to point out evil unless you have experienced it within yourself. In this way, everyone has a little bit of "wolf" in them that they battle with. Those of us familiar with the temptation of sin but have the strength to cast it aside and do good deeds are those of us best able to confront and rid the world of evil. I believe this song could be about A "noble wolf" who is truly good on the inside and that has the power to recognize and confront evil in order to defend Christ the lamb.

k guys this is really obvious.... this song is about shepherds! and jesus was a shepherd of man, and as christians, like him we need to become shepherds of man. and who like to eat sheep? wolves, or demons/satan/sin. AWESOME song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
