Hmmm not so, The theme of the song conveys child rape and the chorus "would you go if they came with with open arms far away" suggests the manipulation inputted into children by their rapists (if you look it up many cases of child rape/molestation show that once a child is kept by their rapist for a very long time they become manipulated into thinking they belong to their rapist and they cant escape them). The diction being used in the word "would" proposes the idea that it is an option for the child because the narrator understands the child is manipulated. The question/chorus is being asked to a child and promises the child the narrator or "they" would take them (escape) far away from this cynical and dehumanizing experience. |

I think this song is about being cheated on and struggling with a relationship. "We can figure out ways to complain there's nothing new" probably means that she isn't surprised that there arguing again. "Throw out the doorsteps and reach for the light Someday is coming so we'll hold ourselves tight" Probably means aim for happiness even your relationship isn't looking pretty. Just get through it and be strong. " Gather our mirrors nothing feels right" maybe means to realize how the relationship is looking. "Someday is coming, but we'll stay asleep tonight If we get to sleep tonight" Probably means The day where they'll stop arguing is coming but meanwhile were just going to forget this and ignore eachother But then you can't sleep at night because yur crying. "If anyone saw you, I'd be so embarrassed.At least someone loves you." Maybe means that you showed everyone that yur truly in love with this person but suddenly they cheat on you and yur embarrassed that people might think yur a fool. And that atleast the person their cheating with loves you." Words of my bathroom." probably means you've been in the bathroom crying and these thoughts have been in yur mind while crying. This is just my guess on what the lyrics mean. |
