To me, it seems this song is about afterlife and embracing it rather than fearing death. "Signs will arrive tonight Guiding light decrease my pain That I created on my own Blind be my eyes tonight Hide the sight that sees in vain Before and after is all done And everything is in time gone" When people die and get brought back they often talk of a "guiding light". When your dead it's assumed you wont feel pain so this light will decrease pain that we (mankind) has created on our own through our brains. "Blind be my eyes" Hide the Sight that sees in vain" seems to be referring to hiding the sight we see with our eyes, it's in vain because there's so much more we can behold. "As I moved into worlds forsaken I saw things mankind can never own When we move on through, minds awaken Die while you're alive and then you know Speak to mankind Through the raining light benign" The first line of this next verse is referring to the world we transfer too once we die and you'll see things mankind can never own, when we move on through to the next world/form our minds awake. "Die while your alive and you'll know" this is obviously referring dying and being brought back, only people who have experienced this will know. Amazing song. |

| it's talking about accepting the ideal of the holographic model, which in my opinion makes more sense then religion and science combined. otherwise i think you a did a great job interpreting it. read the book Holographic Universe by Micheal Talbot if your interested in the holographic model of reality | |

What an amazing song, and I cant believe no one has commented on it yet! This song completely embraces the holographic model. Everything about this song relates to how the universe and mankind is holographic. It's only hidden to people because they can't accept this new ideal. "The more you try connect with form the less your yearning to see all you could behold" This is referring to the ideal that the universe is a hologram, it can never break in two and we're one with everything. People try so hard to connect with material and matter when really there is so much beyond that. "While all we did was to divide Breaking down the whole We never looked at what we found: Hologram within Why we relied on space and time No one here can know At last we looked at what we found" We always try and break things down when we really should look at what we found. A hologram within, this explains a lot of the mysteries of the brain such as memory, the senses and much more. When you break a hologram down it will always project the same image in it's entirety, therefore everything is one with everything. We are all one big consciousness. The universe in a grain of sand. If your interested to learn more about how holograms work and relate to our world check out the book The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot. Scar Symmetry's whole album is based off this book and its seriously unbelievable how they were able to take this ideal and turn into a work of art. This new way of seeing the universe has changed my life and views on the universe, death and reality. And now I understand almost all the lyrics on this album much more than before I read that book. |

In my opinion this song is about changing the way the whole world thinks about the universe. "We are done with worldviews mechanical" In other words, we're ready for worldviews holographic. |

| Scar Symmetry – Fear Catalyst Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Yes man kind fears what it doesn't understand but it's more complicated than that. This whole album as far as I know is based of the book Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot and the basic summary of the book is that holograms make sense out of what science and religion cant. Therefore I believe this song is loosely based off the idea that religion is just blinding people to what the universe is really like. A hologram. It can never break in two, and we are one with everything. If it interests you at all I highly recommend this book. It sheds light on almost every song on the album and it is mind blowing. It seriously changed my life and how I see things in this world. | |

This was a great explanation. You definitely know your stuff but I wonder if have you ever read The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot? The whole album is based off that book. It talks about how holograms are a huge part of the universe and our brains yet no one really accepts it. "A holographic world-view, existance in display Where everything must work as one and never break in two This concept lives forever outside all state control And ever shedding skin" Holograms can never break in two, they always project the same image even when they are broken down. A lot of this song seems to be about accepting and embracing this new way of seeing the universe. Everything is one with everything. The book and this album changed my life in terms of how I see the world and my opinion on death. Just a brilliant album and hardly anyone knows about it. Such a shame that this ideal hasn't been embraced. |

| Scar Symmetry – Orchestrate The Infinite Lyrics | 15 years ago |

When I first read the lyrics to this song, i instantly thought of the Futurama where bender meets god while flying through space after trying to play god. when he meets "god" its speaking in binary and its basically just a galaxy of floating matter, or space and dust. Affecting all of universe with my mind Through my will Solar systems live and die Omnipotence in a world of limits Omniscient, stars will fall On my command But those who live within this world Find ways to label me Godhood or devilry This line to me is basically what made me think of that futurama episode because people give labels to what they think is god, a man on a cloud with a big white beard when its even more likely it's some kind of consciousnesses flying through space, affecting everything in some way. Basically a grand orchestrator somewhere out there that is orchestrating everything, past present and future and therefore the infinite. It almost seems like a straight blow at religion, because people find ways to label what they think is god or holy when its more likely that its something that we can never understand, a grand orchestrator somewhere out there. I love this song, probably one my scar symmetry favorites. pure genius. I do also agree with minis zer0, people have speculated that god is just a consciousness within our minds. very trippy. |
