this song is anything but upbeat, but a fine and very, very sad song it's about someone looking at a photo with it's date printed on it but can't remember the actual taking of the photo (or they are looking at a photo one night at 7:20 pm) supposing it's a girl who wrote the song she sees the man with her in the photo looks out of breath while she looks like she's faking some feeling the does not exist, take an exit line, sounds eerie, the way it's sung like she shouldn't be looking back at old pictures of things that don't exist anymore love the song |

a man is lacking purpose, much like a vagabond, until he finds the answer in her eyes he was either tired/bored of being free or he is equating free to lonely i saw the movie twice and remembered the song for weeks later maybe it's about why someone would want to marry they don't know why except that they want to avoid being lonely also like the boy in the movie, he could see Summer in his future and needed her to see him best movie i've seen in a long time |

it was a straight shot.... could be a man tries to buy antiacid for 25 cts and he had 3 dimes, or 30 cents, in a machine that takes only quarters, he's drinking and driving with 2 drunk girls in the back seat of his car, one of them has to keep the other from sliding out the car's window these would be the doublemint twins, i also find the song's too short but also very visual and i loooove that it's upbeat so the songwriter's wonders how he can stay out of jail for driving drunk if a guy who's "important", can't get out of a jail sentence, what's a guy like him gonna get for driving and drinkin, .....screwed, or jailed, while the twin's puke damage his car's paint one other possible meaning is he was thinking of payin his way out of jail, by paying the officer 300 instead of the 250 fine he'd have to pay in court, so the officer would let him go i really like the song's rhythm and some of the guitar in it now, the previous comments really helped figuring out what would happen if we try getting away from a parking ticket maybe the straight shot was offering to pay the officer and then driving away so damn fast, the girls began puking and the driver knows he gets jail to pay, plus 300 or 3000 fine, all it took was luck to not get caught but he did get caught the line "come back baby, Rock and Roll never forgets" is sort of what the officer would tell the driver, because he will remember the license plate... |
