I think this is easily one of the best songs tom has written for AVA. It just makes it so much easier for people to feel like they know him personally. Which -if you're not sad like me and don't read his interviews- is what he said he liked to do, because it makes people feel like he's friends with them, and not just their idol, or whatever he might be to them. I love listening to this song, I feel like I can totally relate to it, and even though I've never spoken to Tom in anyway, it feels like there's a connection between us, just through this song. You all probably think I'm crazy, but ohwell:') Tom is amazing. Just saying. |

Well.. I don't know if either of the things I'm about to say are right or not, but this is just what I thought? If what Yazzminn said is true about "Lipstick Lullabies", then "Say hello to all the boys at the top of this table that you're under" could be about her giving endless guys oral sex? Or, it could just be a metaphore for all the guys she has been with for no reason. Maybe he kept finding out about all of the different guys she'd been giving oral to/cheating with? And that's why it says "This is sorry for the last time"? I have no idea really. But, I hope this might help a little bit? xD I'm probably completely wrong, but ohwell. |

I think this song is about a guy that couldn't admit to himself how much he loved and wanted this girl [this song is every word I left unspoken], maybe his pride got in the way or something? And it wasn't untill she left that he realised how much he needs her [baby, I sorely miss the vibrant gleam that's in your eyes], and he thinks that by using this song [when you hear this girl I'm hoping that you'll think of us], she'll see that he's willing to admit all of those things now because he's doing something this emotional? Idk. That's just what I thought... Sorry if I'm wrong xD |

And I do miss that, and these lyrics are SO cliched, but if you look past the cliche's, they've completely captured the way most girls on this planet feel. So yano.
