the bass drum during the "load up your six shot baby" breakdown is fucking wicked. - or at least on the album version, i don't really listen to the demo version much.
I agree with tylerxbrighten, the breakdown is for sure the best part of the song.
As for the lyrics, the "Load up your six shot, baby, put it to my head. Pull the trigger, blank I'd figured, put it to me dead" lines are probably referring to the game of Russian Roulette. It'd make sense.

I think this song is pretty obvious. It is a failed relationship. The beginning is how he ends up (hence the target on my temple and a hole in my head line). The shell of a boy lines is, again, how he is left after the relationship ends.
The rest of the song is his bitch of a girlfriend (well, ex) just breaking him down and making him feel like shit. He feels worthless. The gun to the head is symbolic of her verbal abuse and how it is figuratively killing him. The "blank I figured" part in the breakdown is saying "you're trying to kill me with the things you're saying, but it isn't lethal."
The lay your guns down, why wont you just let me die lines go towards her again. He's saying "stop, let me just fade out of this relationship." Instead, she continues to insult him and belittle him. Scars dont heal when you keep cutting supports this as well.
I could be totally wrong, but this is the way I take it.
