I personally believe this album is the best deftones album. I also believe that Good Morning Beautiful, and Needles and Pins are about Stephen Carpenter. They were fighting alot during this time. Stephen wanted to do more heavy ass music, without Chinos vocal style. Chino at this time wanted to do Team Sleep. It was very strange time. I can see this song being about both of them wanting to quit, before they lose their friendship entirely! You should wake up, before the wrath comes Me and You could take off, before the wrath comes I see how it can be about a relationship, just not about a woman. |

This is a great song, unfortunately In my opinion, it was sooo good that the rest of their stuff could never top it. Thats just my opinion and I hope I am wrong for other Boston Fans. This song is about a man listening to a familiar song that brings back the best memories he had with his loved one, He enjoys it so much till he realizes that shes gone and gets bummed out again. Its tragically beautiful. I think we've all been there. I hope though, that unlike me, others were able to keep their loved one, or at least close that chapter on their life and were able to move on with another great person. Of course that is the paradox. |

First of all Sorrowcloud, your name represents everything your comment just stated. I dont understand why you think its crazy, or overdramatic for someone to burst into tears, obviously this song had a big effect on people. I wonder how much affect you have on people other then making them think you are a total douchebag. Its ok if you hate yourself, but dont make others think they are in the wrong for being emotional about music. it just means they are connected to it. on a sidenote THIS SONG IS CLEARLY ABOUT KURT COBAIN. Billy Corgan has stated it is about his youth, it is about transvestites its about alot of stuff. but to tie it all together, especially billy corgan who dated courtney love around this time, or maybe even before, its quite possible he wrote a song about his competition the biggest rockstar in the world, who unfortunately is more popular dead then he is alive. I dont think this song is an attack on kurt, but i think it is more or less explaining how kurt felt about his status in the music industry. I mean how many times have you heard kurt cobain was a sad depressed guy, who only appealed to teeanagers who wanted to kill themselves. the truth is, kurt was a very sweet, emotional, confused guy, who was murdered by his daughters former nanny and kurts wife. eat shit sorrow. |

I think this song is about someone finding religion. I read alot of comments where people say its about change, but that is the change. To me the whole, "Hey mister if your gonna walk on water, wont you drop a ling my way" "Hey mister you don't wanna walk on water, your only gonna walk all over me" It means that there is proof and faith people need. He doesnt want to accept it, but its there and he feels it, but he doesnt want to believe it. its what i get from it, there are alot of references about starting over. |

| You know Ohiostwrestler is right. but hes wrong too. This song IS about just dickin around with your friends. You see we can argue all day, but in the end, you are right it is about teaching someone or giving them an idea , saying fuck the man, but at the same time, dickin around with your friends is the same thing. I mean when your hanging with your buds and chillin and smoking and having some real talk thats where that shit comes from. I mean many times ive sat with buddies and new people and smoked and ate food with them while talking about ideas and beliefs, sometimes it got nasty but other times we came to agreement and just felt wonderful. They planted seeds in my head and I to them. So in turn Badfish is right too. Someone wanted to grow some pot and the sheriff says no fuckin way and he says i want to do what i want to do cuz it makes me happy and i aint hurting anybody. Maybe his buddy gave him that idea, said i cant believe this is illegal, look how happy you are, and im glad you invited me over cuz work was tough today and i needed a smoke and a laugh.
