I wonder if I'm the only one who hears it like: "Back then Nobody knew in the schoolyard Now then You would grow up to be this hard" I don't hear "black and blue" at all. Dunno. Could just be me... |

| Wild Strawberries,The – I Don't Want to Think About It Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This is a really awesome song. So far as I can tell, this is about a fairly innocent and/or inexperienced young woman falling in love with a more experienced and far less innocent man. She allows him to take her virginity, expecting to have a long term relationship with him. However, he takes her naivete as well by not giving her the long term commitment she thought she was getting. Now, she's angry enough with him to want to hurt him, but at the same times she's grateful to him for showing her how the real world works. |

I'm surprised there aren't more comments for this song. I absolutely love the line: "Memory's a lover trying to tell you that she's late" There's something so poignant and yet abstract about it. If you look at this song from a straight-forward point of view, it seems to be about a relationship that has gone wrong. She's saying that she's been fooled by him in the past and their relationship hasn't been perfect, but she's agreeing to stay with him (be his heroine, or leading lady.) I like how "heroine" (female protagonist) can be misheard as "heroin" (drug) and some of the hints at the effects or drugs and addictions in the song (most notably "I know the rules // You wrote them on my veins.") I don't really think this song is about drugs. It seems more like the possible allusions to drugs are meant more to represent a possible addictive quality to the relationship, or possibly to compare the effects of the relationship to the effects of drug use. Anyhoo, that's how I see it. |

My interpretation of this song is this: A girl starts out by trying to seduce a guy on a short-term basis. However, he shows a greater interest and she falls in love with him. So now she's trying to get him into something much more long-term, but also trying to keep from scaring him off at the same time. It's a really catchy song that quickly grew on me. Great for dancing to. |

I've noticed a few mistakes in these lyrics. Understandable, considering the pace of the song. so get your stuff buttoned up get your butt down on the low ding dong sound the alarms it's me, i'm coming over don't you even serenade us Should be (in any place where it's repeated): So get your stuff, button up Get your butt down on below Ding dong, sound the alarms It's me, I'm coming over Don't you hear them serenade us Also: important plans and you'll pardon them Should be: Important plans, and you're part of them Also: please stop back it's 'cause I go all night it's cause I guess I made you look Should be: Please step back It's 'cause I got on my best dress I guess I made you look |

My interpretation is pretty straightforward. This guy is in love with a girl, but life keeps taking him a further and further away from her. Maybe he allowed it because he wasn't ready to commit to her, or perhaps he was too young and immature to realize how important she was. But now, he realizes just how much she means to him, and he wants to go back to her. Anyway, I didn't much care for this song when I first heard it, but then it got stuck in my head and it's kinda grown on me. |

Hmm... I didn't know this song was about overseas military personnell... That makes a lot of sense once you think about it. Anyway, it still works on other levels. Personally, it makes me think of the death of a loved one. I first heard this song just as I was beginning to accept the death of my grandfather. I really missed him, and he was someone who had always been there for me no matter what, and was always willing to give me advice. Every time I hear the chorus it makes me think of him. |

| Train – I'm About to Come Alive Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song always reminds me of my parents. When I was young they went through a really tough time and my dad did some very stupid things. There were times when my mom considered leaving him, and my dad even moved out for a while. Eventually he told her that he knew he'd been stupid, and it wasnt fair how hard things had been for her, but he wanted the chance to try again and do things better. She gave him that chance. Things were rocky for a few years after, but they're doing really well now and their happier than ever. My mom trusts him again, and she's really glad she waited for him to "come alive." This song really seems to sum up what my family went through during that time. Almost makes me cry. | |

This song is about a guy recounting the story of how he found his significant other (girlfriend, wife??) He tells the story of two people who are ultimately meant to be together, but it doesn't happen right away. They miss their first opportunity (he looks one way, she goes the other,) and go their own ways. Then they end up working their way back to each other (dating other people along the way) until they meet up again. In the midst of telling the story, he explains how he doesn't mind the times he felt lonely or unfulfilled because now he has her, and that's all that matters. Anyhoo, that's how I interpret it... I really like the bit of Doobie Brothers sampling. I love "Black Water". |
