| Real Estate – Talking Backwards Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| He's saying "the only thing that really matters," not "they only thing." I tried to edit lyrics and it shows me as having contributed, but still the same. Just pronounces differently than in the next line. Is like a computer algorithm posted these lyrics with no regard to context or logical sense. | |
| Kendrick Lamar – Love Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| @[CedricS:25270] This song is widely accepted as being about his fiancee and high school sweetheart Whitney Alford, so not a sad song. Riding blade means driving a car with big fancy rims and low profile tires, so is just a way of asking if not rich and able to have fancy things. Beautiful song. | |
| Black Flag – White Minority Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| @[binormal:24562] Good lord, you're all idiots, not just binormal but those who have replied, who seem to completely misunderstand the song. It's mocking white power nationalists and fear of becoming a minority, sung from the viewpoint of such a person being mocked, and as noted elsewhere was originally sung by a Puerto Rican. Similar concept to the Nine Inch Nails song "Big Man with a Gun," which was also completely misunderstood by stupid culture warriors at the time like William Bennett. | |

| @[gonzoe:24561] Greg Ginn has actually come out and said just the opposite. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=25084 | |
| Father John Misty – Now I'm Learning to Love the War Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| Definitely "gentler side," people hear "jealous" because the end of the word can blend in to the start of the next word that starts with an "s". | |

| I'm hearing "gentler side" of mankind's death wish, which makes a lot more sense. Both in the context of the song, and would be odd to attribute jelousy or another human emotion to a collective death wish. Web search shows plenty of people hear it both ways. | |
| Wolf Parade – Grounds for Divorce Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Isaac Brock produced this album, so no surprise there's similarities, or that he would sing some backup as another post mentioned. | |
| The Radio Dept. – Heaven's On Fire Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The lyrics above are either meant as a joke, or the poster has a terrible ear. Here are the correct lyrics from the band's site: Thurston Moore (sample) "People see rock and roll as, as youth culture, and when youth culture becomes monopolised by big business, what are the youth to do? Do you, do you have any idea? I think we should destroy the bogus capitalist process that is destroying youth culture." "When I look at you, heaven's on fire I wish I didn't know you better, but it's pointless One look at you, and heaven's on fire When I look at you, I reach for a piano wire Fighting to keep it together, but it's pointless One look at you and heaven's on fire, Heaven's on fire It seems like everyone is on your side We're outnumbered by those who take no pride In constantly moving against the tide Charlatans just out of reach and out of time I'm a little like you, Ugly on the inside But while I dive into the gritty You just stand by When I look at you Heaven's on fire Heaven's on fire It seems like everyone is on your side We're outnumbered by those who take no pride In constantly moving against the tide Charlatans just out of reach and out of time" Puts quite a different spin on it, eh? Heaven's on fire not because he's hot for the other person, but because makes him so upset he reaches for piano wire. |
