To me this song is about is about resisting the temptation to just give up and commit suicide to be with loved ones that are gone. "A world that's without pain" seems to describe heaven or whatever sort of afterlife paradise you may believe in. To me the "calling from beyond" is memories of a loved one(s). Regardless how sweet letting go of your burdens sounds he tells us that the "reasons to hold on are many" and this we must remember when the loneliness, misery, desperation, or whatever that makes someone feel like they can't go on. We'll all "go to them someday" (be with them). At any rate this and The Long Road are in my opinion definitely some of Tiger Army's best work. |
