Within Temptation – Our Farewell Lyrics 15 years ago
It seems like a conversation between a "child" and a matriarchal figure who just recently died. The first and third paragraph belong to the "child" and the 2nd and 4th belong to the parental figure.

The child is coming to grips that the motherly figure has just died. "I can't hear you, I can't see your smile, there is nothing anymore, you're not here" Is this our Farewell? I'm afraid I might forget you. How do I carry on without you?

The "mother" responds in typical loving fashion "You worry to much, see how you care? You're not a cold hearted person, live your life"

The third verse plays on natural human emotion. We all know death can be right around the corner, but we never think that it will strike when it does. "How can the whole World just carry on?" is a typical thought from those who just lost someone close to them. The world is enamored in themselves and you feel the death of your loved one was important while others not so close don't see it the way you do.

The fourth is the mother saying "I'll always be with you, even if I'm not alive. Rest your head go to sleep".

Hurt – Loded Lyrics 15 years ago
What I'm reading from the song is it seems like a song after J started putting his life together. Some of his less than scrupulous friends continue to call him and ask him to go get high with them. And he declines, and that itself is fine for the thought of asking. However, these friend/s it seems are drug fiends who aren't doing anything with their life other than getting high. It's almost as that is all they're doing. So, getting high with them would also be counterproductive to what he is currently trying to accomplish.
