I agree with you. “Crowd” instead of “craft.” I’ve always wondered between “motion” and “emotion” too. I also think it’s “freeway in Rome” or “freeway in low…motion” as in a play on “slow motion” OR “freeway in low…emotion” as in….whatever the bell Stephen talks about. I kinda hate when lyrics like this are posted and we’re just to assume they’re “correct” or “official” and then especially on Genius when people say what the possibly wrong lyrics “mean” with such assuredness. I don’t anyone who does that understand malkmus’ music. |

I think the 2nd part of this song (Part 2 (About Someone Else)) is directed towards us, the listeners. We are the someone else. And if youve listened to this song so many times and with enough love for it to really try to figure out what he is saying in this part, then you are probably just the type of person he is singing to. I really believe he made this song for the people that will truly enjoy and be touched by it. Or maybe its just to me, but I really feel he is speaking to the listener, then as a reward, they give you 5 more minutes of just incredible rock music until the very last note. God I love that solo after the lyrics of Part 2, and the bouncy bass that comes after it. So effing good!!! Just realized Ive been listening to this album for 20 years. HOLY CRAP!! |

imaCUNTagiousgirl has the best interp i think. This is primarily about how,in real life, bullshit walks and ,evidently, sympathy, caring and passion fall to the wayside.Superficiality and pretense are ultimately the two main personality traits that are gonna get people ahead in life. Genuine emotion has been rendered worthless in this god forsaken world, and this song represents that in a sad/rockin way.the title says it all: theres nothing more unnattractive/unappealing to a girl than a guy who genuinely cares about the way she feels.i know its a bummer, but it's all to familiar in the life of an unattractive-male-artist. |
